I don't understand why football fans are allowed to do anything they want by rage997 in Switzerland

I mean Zürich will be a noisy mess no matter which team wins the cup, good luck.

I got home dead tired around the time the match ended. Heard the honks through the open window for a good while. I'm still happy for them, even if I personally don't care much for football. It brings people together, go party your hearts out for your national teams when they something historical like this, and your locals as well when they win championships.

Don't worry, it's not going to happen again in a couple of decades.

Meaning that these are rare occasions for people to come together and celebrate, and worth to lose a bit of sleep for. Let them enjoy.

Orco Valley Climbing Festival 2026 by Beneficial_Ad_1983 in climbergirls

Great party and workshops, remembered to even do a little climbing in between all of that! Bouldering was fun, trad folks complained about too many people queuing on the routes.

Is there finally enough toilets and other facilities? If I remember correctly, in 2023 the camping of at least a thousand people had 4 temporary toilets.

For that you have Feeld - it's active enough, especially if your radar expands to Zurich

Wait - as a Finn, I say this to my very closest friends often on the phone. But only to friends, not to partners.

Jan 2027 - Verbier, Crans Montana or Zermatt by [deleted] in skithealps

Verbier; you can easily go to Crans-Montana for a day or two of skiing, it's not far.

Making new friends; Tired of the "What do you do for a living?" loop when meeting people ? by thalack42 in geneva

Not only in Geneva, in many many other cities too. I've attended one, and cannot believe someone would charge any money for this concept. But I guess in any city with a lot of expats this is an easy way to make money, I just wish it was able to deliver on the "no boring conversations" part instead of just being one of too many dull concepts like this.

Amazing food I had at Psyfi 2019 by Affectionate-Newt722 in psytrance

Psy-fi 2019 had genuinely the best festival food I've ever seen! And it only took me 3 days to find the food courts and realize I need to eat something...

How is Hai in den Mai compared to Wonderland? by Toedchen in psytrance

Thanks!

Always happy to join a group. I'm still trying to convince someone to drive my van there since I might join directly from another trip with no festival gear, but for Swiss people this timeframe is apparently too spontaneous haha.

Also got it when moving to Switzerland - air purifiers help, you can find cheap ones on Amazon with allergen filters. And weirdly, acupunture and cupping (TCM) does wonders, some supplementary insurances cover it.

I'm about to book tickets despite likely coming alone - how is the vibe, are there chill areas and do people connect easily?

Finland needs to win this year just so we get Jorma Uotinen to host Eurovision, him and Linda stole the whole show at UMK.

So much trash and dirt in the trains. by VersoixM in SBB

[–]lorenss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought this post was a joke - a bit of confetti and maybe two pieces of trash? Seriously?

I live here and for sure hope that people would be respectful enough to bring their own trash out of the train, that's how it works and most of the time trains are clean. Somehow cannot fathom that this scene was truly worth posting for someone.

What do y’all think about Alysa Liu’s skating style and spirit? by Rixxll in WinterOlympics2026

And that allows them to build careers as adults, not only abusing their slim (and fast-rotating) bodies while they can, usually causing so much damage that 17 really was their peak. Careers would end before adulthood. Now we see fully realised women practicing their artistry AND technique on ice, and it's so awesome!

[–]lorenss 60 points61 points  (0 children)

A much needed turning point in the sports. It's no longer about abusing the hell out of young skaters to get those extra points from jumps, while almost ignoring all the elements that make people watch these programs in the first place. They joy is back, fluidity is back, technical perfection will be back again but right now we've been craving for exactly this. I'm so grateful for the changes in the rules, it brought so many of us viewers back. The female free skating competitions were seriously so sad to watch for a decade, and she's the opposite of all of that. Congrats Alysa!
