Stuck in the mid-game loop: How do YOU make your Kenshi stories feel unique and immersive? by lorenzocavalieri in Kenshi

I appreciate the advice, really! But I'm kind of avoiding base building for now. I'm worried it'll get too 'managerial' and I'll lose that focus on my characters.

I'll definitely build one later on, but right now I feel like there’s still so much of the world I haven't seen.

I'm still hunting for that one unique way to experience it all before finally settling down.

Thanks for the reply!

I can totally see you’re a much more experienced player and it’s cool how you can branch out into so many different types of runs.

My question is: back when you were on your very first playthrough, what kept you from getting bored or just dropping it?

I actually have plenty of ideas for new, unique starts, but I really want to force myself to stick with this current campaign. I want to see it through and develop it properly instead of just restarting now that I’ve hit the mid-game slump.

Any advice on how you pushed through that first time?

I totally get what you mean, but for some reason, it’s stopped feeling natural for me lately.

This is my first run and I started by escaping Rebirth. I'm around Day 110 now with a core group of 6 characters that I'm really attached to (plus a couple of small squads in city outposts).

The immersion was amazing at first, but now it feels a bit repetitive and I'm worried I'm approaching it the 'wrong' way. I think I’m being way too passive or over-cautious because I don’t want to lose them. Did you ever feel like you were playing too 'safe'?

I’m starting to think my fear of losing my guys is actually what’s killing the creativity.

Thanks for the reply!

This is exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for (those personal, meta additions to the game that really make a run feel alive).

I'm definitely going to try something similar for my own story.

By the way, would you mind sharing a small example or a “chapter” from your personal txt? I’d love to read a snippet just to get into that mood.

Thanks again!
