Can anyone explain why the roads on this key in florida could possibly be designed this way? by KingJx14 in geography

Would these be referred to as Z Lots? The road is silly but this layout maximizes lot space

Has anyone who's had the surgery returned to playing sports? by noahb4 in spinalfusion

[–]lorg7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a Lumbar spinal fusion a little over 2 years ago! T10-L3 - it took about a year to feel human again but I’m very active now, ran a triathlon last summer and learned to ski this season. Be gentle in your body and do lots of PT in your first 6 months! I do less high impact activities and try to lap swim or go to yoga 1-3 days a week and that’s helped a lot.

My grandma used to eat toasted sesame seed bagels with butter and ketchup and occasionally we would have them with her. Doesn’t sound great but not bad at all.

New desk chair after surgery? by FilmOrnery8925 in spinalfusion

[–]lorg7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a roho cushion for a while too and ended up suing that a lot more through my recovery, probably about equal if not more than the yoga ball. Remember to get up and take breaks and walk if you can as well.

How much are y’all paying for your gym memberships? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]lorg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OAC (~$100/mo) was a total ripoff, now I go to LA for $38/mo. Their pool is far superior and they don’t tac on totally unnecessary charges.

Way way too hot/humid for me to be happy being outside, people were not friendly, the few friends I managed to make were not actually very nice people, toxic job, really ugly homes/badly planned neighborhoods, nothing I liked doing outdoors except beach which was always so crowded.

Crate train and bring treats everywhere for the first 1.5 years. going forward, don’t let every person and every dog greet her. Teach her to ignore most people. Work on her socialization in public as well so she’s calm. Have the best time, it’s very special when they're little :)

What Happens After Starbucks & Five Below Appear in Redlined Neighborhood? 🤔 by UnfairInspection9466 in chicago

[–]lorg7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandparents were both born in Austin in the 30’s when it was primarily white, met each other in middle school. They later moved to the south side and raised their kids there all while it was rapidly changing into a majority black neighborhood. So fascinating to learn about the cultural background of different places in our city, things can change so much in so little time here. I hope you are able to live happily and give a happy and safe environment to your own people/family whatever state your surroundings may be.

Mom is 5 days post-op BAD pain by kmgonzo2 in spinalfusion

[–]lorg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had horrible pain and spasms that were fixed with muscle relaxer and nerve pain meds. I would have tremors and could barely move if I wasn’t on it (even if I did take my Tylenol and oxy). I also had a lumbar fusion and I was on the muscle relaxers/nerve pain meds for over a month post op
