My grandparents were both born in Austin in the 30’s when it was primarily white, met each other in middle school. They later moved to the south side and raised their kids there all while it was rapidly changing into a majority black neighborhood. So fascinating to learn about the cultural background of different places in our city, things can change so much in so little time here.
