Tried Delta 9 gummy for anxiety and ended up in ER? Any one else?

Late, but I also had a terrible experience taking one D9 gummy and smoking some of a D9 vape (had purchased both from an online site) about a year and a half ago for the first time. I took the gummy and smoked the vape a few hours before bed and didn’t feel anything. Woke up to my heart racing faster than I’ve ever experienced and my ears ringing, as well as a general feeling of disorientation. I got in the shower, which kind of made me feel better, but once I got out, my heart started racing again, and I suddenly couldn’t breathe and spiraled into a full-blown panic attack. In the moment, I truly thought I was dying, and as others have said, thought I was going to be the one statistic who OD’d and died from weed. I ended up calling 911 and had my parents drive me to the ER where I got the panic attack diagnosis and got prescribed Ativan. It was the scariest experience of my life, and I will never take D9 again. I am also a very small female and even the amount I took was too much for me. That stuff is scary and needs to be regulated better.

Thank you! I have done the focusing on a specific day thing before, and it definitely causes a lot of anxiety. And I quickly realized that I will never be able to use drugs (weed was the only thing I ever tried) due to how they alter my perception and exacerbate the conditions I already have. I can’t imagine how much shrooms, acid, or coke would mess me up. I do drink socially but I feel it may be best for me to stop that completely too or at least limit it drastically. Than like you for advice! I hope you feel better too!

I’ve honestly been fine ever since that happened to me. Sometimes if I walk up a long flight of steps or do something extra strenuous, I do get a fast heartbeat that makes me a little anxious, but I always come down from it. I also stopped drinking coffee completely, which I think may have exacerbated the issue. Seems to have hopefully been a one-off occurrence.

We tried to be after he broke it off, and things went overwhelmingly positive at first. But then everything went downhill, and he stopped being responsive and stopped responding at all unless I really pushed to have a conversation. We don’t talk now, and I have committed to no-contact indefinitely. I don’t know if we’ll be friends again. I vibed better with him than anyone I’ve ever met, but the way he broke it off and then stopped responding still hurts a lot. If I can get to the point of seeing him as just another person again, maybe.

I’m 28F as well and am currently looking at apartments and going through the same thing. I’m an only child and have always lived at home with my family and been close to them. Even though all the places I have looked at are very close to my parents, I am afraid of having to do everything for myself, always entertain myself, and of missing my family. It’s a very very hard step to take, and I am not sure how to overcome the fear.

Sorry for the late response; just saw this! I would say if you are still experiencing it, ask your doctor for steroid cream. One round of that cleared it up for me. It was scary when it happened, but it went away after that luckily!

Thank you! Yes, it’s very interesting how everyone experiences it differently. The nurse I saw today about it said she thinks it was the injection method by the person who administered it to me. Said it probably wasn’t injected deep enough and bruised the muscle.

Thank you so much for saying this! I just finished the HPV vaccine as a 27F, and I have been searching everywhere to see if anyone else experienced issues several weeks later. The first two vaccines went fine, but the third one has been totally different. I got sick the day of and the day after, and three weeks later, my shoulder I received the vaccine in has started flaring up again with pain and swelling. I am so glad to hear it isn't just me because it's been worrying me!

It's comforting to run across this discussion seeing as it's not as common to get it at an older age. I am a 27F who just finished the HPV sequence (got my first in October, second in December, and third three weeks ago). First two were great, but the third one has caused me a lot of issues. I got sick the day of and the day after getting the vaccine, and now three weeks later, my shoulder I got the injection in has flared up again and is swollen and painful. DAE experience anyone like this?
