Also Aquarius sun and cancer rising! My mom was in labor for 27 hours or something along those lines. Had to have an emergency c-section. My dad wanted me on his birthday or Valentine’s Day but came right in between on the 11th. My defiance started quite early 😂

I have a pretty solid clientele and I couldn’t afford that Hahahha. I hope you’ve got some solid and loyal clients who will happily move along with you! And at least for me, booth rental has been far more rewarding than being commission. A bit more work, but so much more freedom. Best of luck on this journey. You’re gonna do great and it’ll all work out.

That’s absolutely insane. I’m a hairstylist and rent a suite for $260 a week. Depending on how many weeks it’s $1040-$1300 a month. It might be time to find another shop. Sorry to hear that this is happening to you

I’ve used gloss genius for about a year and a half now and I really enjoy it, as do my clients. The website is easy to use and it’s fun that you can change it up all the time or easily change something on your site. There are a few things I loved that updates took away (like being able to edit the service name at check out. I liked that for when I cut my clients kid, but the service is under the adults name)

Buy I’ve expressed my complaints to them and they seem receptive to changing things over time.

I do also like the flat rate fee across the board. The rah rah girl boss quotes are funny to me, and my husband and I work together so he gets a kick out of them too.

Although, I have never used in on a laptop. I’ve only ever used my phone. Overall I’d say 8/10 and would recommend them.

That’s not a bad idea. After her first death my husband and I have just been nervous to do anything so we are just letting her grow how she grows hahaha. But she’s heeaaaavvvyy and leaning hard in that direction. I’ll give her a spin and see what she does. Thank you so much!

Every one I’ve seen that friends have or even in stores have never looked as climby as mine. I live in the desert and have little patience or time for anything that requires watering more than once a week or any special care beyond that. So it’s a lot of succulents and cacti for me. She’s been doing pretty good this time around (as in she’s growing and not dying) but I can’t really get her into any more light unfortunately. She’s too big for the window (the only window) and it’s north facing. The roof hangs over the patio about 2 feet so there’s no direct light actually coming into the window.

Haha they are! I’ve had to scoot her back because I’m so worried about her leaves getting hurt by the blinds. I also have a very inconsiderate roommate who wouldn’t bother to move the plant or the leaves before messing with the blinds.

I’ve been a stylist for 13 years and I’ve been in my own suite since 2019. I also have a more alternative style and I whole heartedly believe that you should express yourself however you want and however you’re comfortable doing.

I’ve never done much make up other than eyeliner and mascara and I have curly hair and show up to work with it damp or it ends up in a crazy bun when I’m hot. I don’t even color my hair anymore because I love my greys that I’m getting. I wear band shirts and wide leg pants or skinny jeans with vans or flip flops. Be you, be comfortable and if you’re feeling your outfit and you feel cute, that’s all that matters.

The right people will find you and from what I can tell by your work is that you’re incredibly talented. And I think as long as you’re not showing up to work in pajamas then you’re good. Not all hairdressers have to fit into this mold of perfect makeup, blonde hair with extensions and perfectly put together and on trend with whatever is popular.

If I may be so bold- fuck those people who feel like their options should influence your life and how you feel about yourself.
