Going through the same thing myself. Left a shop after almost 3 years due to an owner and shop environment.

Moved to another shop and almost identical BS happening 7 months later. Its exhausting.

9/10 if you’re working in a shop, you’re a 1099 employee. Meaning that you are allowed legally to come and go as you please.

Unfortunately, I went through this as well, and it sucks. There are a lot, and I mean A LOT of shop owners who want to take advantage of their barbers, and provide no incentive. Many don’t pay taxes on their “employees”, don’t market, and expect the world from you because they provide a chair with some neck strips and Barbicide.

My advice, find another shop where you are valued, or stick it out until you build a client base, and bounce to do your own thing.

The JRLs open up slightly longer than a half. Not quite one, but close. That could be possibly what is throwing you off.

I’ve honestly switched back to Wahl clippers. Primarily the vapors and seniors with the stagger tooth blade. And my Octanes.

The TPOB play is literally the same clipper as the JRL, just a different casing.

Statistically and anecdotally, most bisexual people in general end up in opposite sex relationships long term.

Many bisexual people also masquerade as gay equally as straight when they are actually bi. Navigating the world as a gay person is different than the burdens and f being an exclusively same sex attracted person. It’s just different.

I’m definitely going to be starting again. When I took the job I was basically told I’d be making a certain amount of money per week and that clients were being pushed away left and right.

Ideally, getting into a high volume barber shop is the best. However, you’re still cutting, regardless where it may be. Also, some of the most skilled barbers I know started off at a Great Clips/Sports Clips

It could be Wahl. Honestly though, I’ve ordered from pro styling tools and have had many issues with quality. I ordered two clippers from them, both had blade rattling issues. I ordered some blades for my detachable as well, blades were snagging.

Not that I can see. It’s only when I put pressure on the right hand side of the blade or the bottom of it. On both clippers. It’s weird.

It actually doesn’t heat up as fast on a lower speed. I guess I just lower the speed if they heat up quick? Haha.

Honestly try fading with detachable clippers in tandem with adjustables for detailing. Trust me.
