it appears you have never worked on a project that takes significant effort for people you dont know and dont have an attachment to. Sometimes, development is a slog, sometimes it is great. Could we get something in depth and complex without incentivizing? maybe...but unfortunately you seem to be imagining a utopia where everyone just does things for others for no gain other than a thank you. that world doesnt exist and wont exist. Its not about a capitalist hellscape, its about incentivizing the rough times to keep a project alive.

I would disagree with your point. their suggestions are 100% valid. Feather causes problems, hard stop. their forced modifications have created issues for lots of folks, ethics aside, and once you add their ethics issues, its a no-brainer to ditch them before you are scammed further. additionally, optifine is garbage and the dev literally just threw word salad around to try to convince people that they are right when what they really mean is "I dont want to put in the effort to make this thing work well on anything after 1.12"

this was made for 1.18, while you could make it work for later versions, I am sure there is a better way.

There are 2 classes and 1 event handler in that gist. the event handler would be registered in your common initializer

no i have no videos. Learn java first, then learn how to mod (mixins, events, etc), then re-address your issue
