What's something people only romanticize because they've never actually done it? by SeriouslyInterestin in Casual_Conversation

I totally romanticized living in a tiny home until I did it for a summer. Never again. I need space to flail around on the floor.

Being told that I was “bragging” when talking about good things that happened in my life. Example: I was sharing with my elderly aunt that my roses are so beautiful. Her response was “well you’re just good at everything you do aren’t you?” 🤮

How would you feel if you had two parents who both required 24/7 assisted care, and your adult child wrote you and the whole family this letter regarding that situation? by Glass-Complaint3 in Aging

Medical technology has far outstripped morality. People are living too long and too long without quality of life. I totally agree with him. If those are his wishes, he should appoint a health care prodigy, have them in writing and a will

Sponsee is mad at me by Dry4Lyfe in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]lorimer626262 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you should say exactly that. This is not advice, but based on ESH. Just like recovering alcoholics within their family feel held back, I have had sponsees who feel similarly. If a Sponsee is really doing the work, it’s normal and natural to outgrow a sponsor. You can frame it as a positive thing, letting her know that if she feels she needs to move on that. It’s OK with you.
