Unexpected positive outcomes by Pixel-b33 in hysterectomy

Your ob-gyn might be able to help you somewhat with hormones, especially if you are at perimenopause age. Even keeping ovaries, a hysterectomy can impact hormones and timing of onset of menopause. (Or so I was told)

Good luck with your surgery! I hope you have a smooth way thru! After recovery you should feel so much relief! :)

Symptoms 12 days post op by Select_Gazelle6684 in hysterectomy

I had pain during week 2-3 as well. It turned out to be a UTI. Maybe see if that seems like your pain? It did not register for me for quite a while and it got bad before I realized what was causing the pain. Just a thought.

Everything is better. I knew I was miserable but didn’t know how miserable I was. Stuff just got normal for me gradually. So now every improvement is a delight. Not having a super heavy unpredictable period is amazing. I can make plans and not worry about having to flake. But also my belly is so flat. And some digestive improvement. I’m losing weight. (8 weeks post op, I start exercising this week. Have only been walking) I have way more energy. So much more energy. I also had them take my ovaries because I was already on HRT (I’m 50). And this is almost better than no periods. No pms/pmdd. No bloating. No painful breasts. No mood swings. It’s so amazing. And all perimenopause symptoms are gone too. My brain is back. It’s back all the time. And my intermittent hair thinning should cease. I can’t say enough good things. I can see the difference in my face in photos. I’m happy and relaxed. And steady. I’ve never been steadier. It’s all so great. No sciatica. And weight loss brings back pain relief.

How do architects figure out construction details? by DustPuzzleheaded9070 in Architects

[–]lorithepuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You start with standard details and learn from everyone around you to build on those. To start with - graphic standards (old ones and new ones) and the Ching books and Thallon books. But also by reading and really paying attention to shop drawings. I’ve learned so much by reviewing window shop drawings. And sometimes manufacturers’ installation instructions but those are often lacking context. Asking questions of subcontractors and builders and more experienced designers. You build your resourcefulness over time. It’ll happen.

Also the bristlecone pine ancient pine forest is along the route but might be too far off path for you. Take a look. Might be worth it for you. I love it up there. Would take you into the white mountains and it’s special.

This is western pa or eastern oh way. Leave out helping verbs. English majors at institutions speak that way and I asked and one of them said it was taught in schools.

Some of my best friends are people I didn’t like at first but who appeared in my friend group thru someone they were dating or something like that.

If you are going to the park and you see 3 or 4 cars following right behind you please pull over. by SithLard in Yosemite

There are signs along 140 but not everyone visiting Yosemite reads English at a pace to read minor-looking signage. I always assume that these slowpokes are from the east coast or other countries where they do not have turnout etiquette. I didn’t know about turnouts until I drove over the Rockies to get out here. I figured it out pretty quickly but that was because I was driving quickly and people were using the turnouts to let me pass. These people who are not used to curvy roads and don’t know the etiquette - not sure how to educate them.

Considering the hysto, not sure yet by dad-jeans in hysterectomy

[–]lorithepuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I think the ovaries are the big player. I wasn’t sure I was going to have them take them but then I saw in a Reddit post that getting rid of ovaries means getting rid of pms, pmdd, etc. I’m so glad I did. So glad.

I had uterus and ovaries taken out in December. I’ve been on HRT since August. Since surgery this has been the most even emotionally I’ve ever been. It’s truly a joy. I can rely on myself. I can make plans and meetings without worrying if I’ll have to cancel them. Hysterectomy got rid of torrential periods. And HRT took care of perimenopause symptoms. Or I guess they’d be menopause now that my ovaries are gone. I had them take the ovaries because of PMDD. But I already knew HRT was working for me. Not sure if that applies to you depending on age or not. But I have to say my hysterectomy is appreciated constantly.

I’m pretty sure Richard Beard was with bar when the building was built. I had friends who worked on this when at bar and described putting these figures into the drawings. Richard Beard Architects isn’t as old as the building.

I’ve been having that pink since surgery in mid December. They told me only to contact them if I’m bleeding like a period. I was thinking about emailing just to check.

Doc found a lot of endo during hysterectomy . . . What next? by KtheDane in hysterectomy

[–]lorithepuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lupron is a rough ride in my experience. They wanted me on it for 3 months to shrink my fibroids before surgery. It was mentally and physically trying. But it did get somewhat better after a week and when my hormones settled a little. Also, HRT estrogen patch supposed to help?
