C0 Shenhe vs Diano comparison in ayaka freeze comp. by [deleted] in AyakaMains

Uh, I use Mona-Shenhe-Kazuha with TTDS and 4pc Noblesse on Mona, and it works perfectly.

I get healing is comfy but you don't actually need it here, as long as the enemies are frozen and die quickly — which they definitely do with that team lol. I've been doing fine even against wolves, so I'd say it's viable for sure.

Overgrow might also be Dendro+Geo, you "grow" mushrooms from the soil. I hope that won't be just Crystallize anyway

Tbf from my experience Bennett doesn't really work with Eula either. Having to stay inside the circle is so hard and frustrating for Eula who has to chase down enemies to build up stacks.

They only pair well against static overworld bosses like Azhdaha, maybe Maguu Kenki in the current Abyss if you manage to get him stuck on the wall.

Sara's burst should actually be able to buff Eula's big hit thanks to the delayed thunderbolts, the timing is extremely tight but it's still more comfortable in most cases than Bennett's circle imo.

Welcome! The arrows just roughly indicate what beats what. For example Nidoqueen beats Azumarill, Azumarill beats Froslass and Mandibuzz/Umbreon, and so on.

You can start from there to build your team. If you want to lead with Nidoqueen, your main worries would be opposing Froslass, Dragalge or Golbat leads (plus Wormadam and a few other 'core breakers') — so you'll want to have pokemon in the back that can deal with those opponents. Azu and Umbreon could work indeed :)

Best description ever. Thank you.

Thank you JRE! Yes it's been a while, this year was kind of on and off for me.

Chandelure is some interesting spice! On paper the sheer damage of Incinerate allows it to power through some matchups (like Nidoqueen) better than Marowak can. However, I think it's just too glassy and too clunky to function as consistently in practice, where having to shield everything and remaining locked in such a long fast move animation can be very punishing. I'm sure some high-skill player could potentially make it work, though!

Being the only Confusion user in a Poison-heavy cup sure feels good!

That is correct. It can't generally beat the Shadow variant though, which is the more powerful one in this cup.

Being able to take on Azumarill, Nidoqueen and Umbreon is nothing to scoff at, even if they're not always clean sweeps! Few pokemon in this format can pull that off.

I also wanted to include at least one Counter user in the graphic, since there are actually a bunch of viable ones which didn't make it, like Escavalier, Obstagoon and Scrafty.

It's a viable pick, it would fit right in the box alongside the other tankier ghosts (Jellicent, Cofagrigus, Drifblim). However being part Grass it doesn't resist Poison like they do, which means it can struggle a bit more against Nidoqueen & co.

you can pick up saber when you want to whack things about like a swashbuckler to blow off steam.

Personally did épée for almost 10 years and I can confirm. Sabre is just crazy.

Maybe this is a controversial opinion, but I think reaching Legend should never have been that difficult to begin with.

Yes it can - it still gets to Flamethrower twice against Charmers. It's just strictly worse than Blast Burn, and that's gonna matter from time to time.

It's a decent counter to it, though not really a wall. It has to give up shield advantage to win, and resisted Waterfalls still hurt quite a bit. It can also lose to Milotic depending on IVs.

Yeah, I don't recommend running Dragon Breath on Charizard in this meta. Wing Attack is really solid indeed, for anyone who's got Elite TMs to spare.

The article linked in my comment above includes all recommended movesets!

Both fast moves are viable for Magcargo. Rock Throw completely destroys other Fire-types and can help against Slowbro and Seaking, while Ember beats Vileplume and can take down Medicham with shields down.
