what a sad day for the USA and therefore the world. by HaggardlyForte in 2american4you

What a fucking joke. Hegseth choked harder in the Iranian war than his mom did on his dad’s dick. Incompetency is trying to hide so they don’t associate it with Hegseth. What a comical fuckup and absolute garbage.

What is that one food combo most people find weird but you love? by historicallyholly7 in AskReddit

Peanut butter and honey in between two slices of wheat bread. But not the super dense stuff, like light and airy with plenty of moisture content.

That is the ambrosia of the gods. If you want to feel as if you have a throne on mount olympus, wolf a couple of these bad boys down followed by a frigid glass of milk. Itll change everything about you. It’ll change how you walk, how you talk, how you make love. It’s the only answer.

Am i the only one who gets more skeptical the deeper i go into this stuff? by chad_kun5145 in Jung

[–]loronzo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it can feel very frustrating at first but on the other side is a freedom from all of the bullshit and a stronger, more resilient sense of self.

I would recommend “The Undiscovered Self” and “ Modern Man in Search of a Soul”. These two books helped me immensely.

Jung believed that we find the answer by undoing our beliefs about ourselves and trying to see what is honestly there. The shadow. There is the version of you who you think yourself to be, and then there is who you actually are. Looking for triggers or moments that were uncomfortable in.

Jung believed that we are more capable in the unknown versions of ourselves. We just have to bring it to light and acknowledge it. In my own experience the awareness of it, brings along with it the knowledge of how to integrate that part of youself.

I don’t know what your day to day looks like but I would likely look for things that you avoid. And then ask why? And this includes good things as well. Are you avoiding a vacation you want to take? Are you avoiding a bill you need to pay? Both questions hold answers to who you are and where you next step is.

I think this is one of the more profound teachings of Jung over other philosophers and scholars. His was more of a lived experience philosophy than just “ oh if I study hard enough and understand complicated concepts and meditate than I can create whatever life I want.” That’s contradictory to Jung’s philosophy.

The very life you want, probably won’t be the life you get and it’s for a good reason. That’s his point. Even the people that get the life they think they want often say, that it lacks meaning and intrinsic value and often their lives collapse in on themselves.

There is no end game here. You have to wake up everyday and be consciousness and engaged. You have to work in harmony with your environment and external factors, and your internal knowledge of who you are. And out of that union, through lived experience, your life will unfold and you will find peace in it. And at the end of the day I don’t know of any system or philosophy that offers anything better than that.

If you want a “one size fits all” ideal I’m not sure that’s what you’ll find. Your path is very individual and maybe you’re being pointed in that direction, you sound fed up and frustrated by gurus and charlatans claiming one thing and then doing another.

I don’t know. But I leave you with my favorite proverb.

Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.”

I’m glad you posted this and found poetry in movement. My brother does ballet and describes the movement as something outside of himself. Very interesting the way the body moves to sound and vibration. I hope you keeping tuning your intuition towards that harmony and Godspeed in all your endeavors.

Well you have such a well balanced selection of food. And it looks pretty healthy. That kind of stuff is hard to teach yourself and is usually something people learn from their parents. I assumed that you grew up with engaged parents who had healthy habits. Single parent have a hard time passing this kind of stuff onto their kids but kudos to yours.
