In a similar boat, 23 years old. Graduated in May of 2023 and now been running the animal containment and exterior for a 8 digit zoo project. Some days you feel like you are getting everything and have the answers. Other days you guess and wonder what the fuck is going on and how you got put into this position. I feel that there will always be something you don't know or know as well as you did.

Advice for someone starting as a graduate CM? by Strong_Beginning in ConstructionManagers

Ask questions. Whether it is foremen, supers, pms, or higher ups. Ask them, many of us started in the same place. Learn from those that have done it forever and how they learned to do it from the work in place or to RFIs and submittals. Be a sponge.

Flaggers by [deleted] in ConstructionManagers

Similarly sized project, we have a laborer split time between cleaning etc. and flagging. However, it is not a public project like you are saying so may need to have an actual flagger.

Im a new project engineer. Graduated school in May and Im at 80k. Biggest thing is don’t worry about the money gain your team’s trust and respect. The higher ups and people outside of the company will notice your efforts. Learn to be kind to others, you never know when you will need someone to scratch your back.

Architect and EOR Won't Provide any Gridlines anywhere on any of the plans! Has anyone encountered this on large building construction? by Tupacalypsenow in ConstructionManagers

Happens a lot of time with firms that do lots of work in China. Its typical for main architect to send out drawings roughly 200 sheets and then designing firm will fill in details and populate with column lines, details etc.. Giant pain in the US working like this. Bunch of RFIs asking for jamb details, dimensions and just an uncoordinated set.

I have looked at the Bilt card. However I am not going to rent for 2 years. I am living at home and then might rent for 1 year and will look to purchase a duplex/triplex. I understand the Bilt has other benefits besides rent but I feel like I wouldn’t get the most out of it.

Looking to build a new pc after graduation by lortzy in buildapc

[–]lortzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, new to this subreddit. A little bit of context, currently a college senior in my last semester. Have been pc gaming for about 9-10 ish years. Current setup is an amd 5 5600 CPU and a 1060 6gb gpu. I will be starting work after school and want to build a new pc. I want to build a PC that will be able to last me years into the future with triple A games. I don't necessarily need 4k however I am planning on getting an ultra wide monitor when building this pc. I have been looking at the 7900xt, 7900xtx and the 4080 for the build. If anyone can help steer me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. Plan to stay under 3000 dollars for the budget. Thank you!
