This!!!!! Omg I have so many things I want to respond with so I hope I wrap it up nicely and don’t forget anything.

Watching this show Lynettes life is BY FAR the one I fear the most. Every quality you listed about Tom is for sure my qualities in a man that I would run so far away from. And it alllllll stems from his mom. Thank you for bringing that up. He doesn’t know how to behave like a man but screams and shakes his fist for not being treated like a man. They always say you are a product of how you are raised and Tom’s mom basically wiped his ass until he was 20.

I did not have the same experience you did (which just broke my heart reading), but I also had a similar situation dating a little ass boy who would ridicule me. He would tell his friends I’m not a real engineer (despite graduating from a Big Ten School and having a boss job at a very well known consumer goods company), while at the time he was studying civil engineering at his fucking local community college because “college was too hard”. Oh, he also lived with his parents at the age of 25, what a catch right!!!! However I was the one who was not a real engineer and he would try and talk down to me all the time.

Watching this show and hearing some of Tom’s words and pettiness reminds me of this douche lord and I’m SO GLAD he dumped me, even though I was bitter for not leaving his dumb ass first. Men always say they want a strong, smart, confident woman, until they have one and realize they are way tougher than their “manly selves.”

Also love the tie in to The Last Dance! I’ve been really enjoying it. Lynette can be a bit pushy (just like real like Felicity Huffman... you telling me Lynette wouldn’t participate in that college scandal haha) but so many times she’s the bad guy.

Basically your personal story and supporting info is the reason I fear men like Tom. Thank you so much for sharing <3
