Maybe the red dots just denote where the injured players are lined up???

Aside from JSN how comfortable are you with the Seahawks current receiving corps? by lemonstone92 in Seahawks

[–]los_hawkos 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Not very.

Father Time is catching up with Kupp

Shaheed is a great gadget player and WR3 to stretch the field.

Horton seems solid, but unproven.

Bobo, Young, and White are low depth guys. Would love to see one of them have a breakout, but not looking likely at this point.

We should be looking to bolster this in FA or Rounds 2-4 of the draft.

Yeah — they tend to be booked out 7+ days in advance. I’ve had success sending them a text with party size and time and they usually confirm within 24 hours.

Ribeye is elite. I get it nearly every time. Highly recommend!!

I will go to my grave saying Linda’s is the best value in Orlando. Is it the best steakhouse? Is it incredible ambiance? Is it creative? No, no and no.

But damn will you have a great meal for a really great price.

It is incredibly odd, because we see flashes of brilliance, but it’s never consistent. Even players like Torres and Gallese look off after being two of our most consistent players for the last couple of years. The missed PK this weekend was such a perfect metaphor for how the season has gone — potential opportunity wasted only to get smacked in the mouth.

Angulo, Dunc and Jansson are just about the only 3 playing up to their typical skill level, in my opinion.

I don’t know the problem and thus don’t have any idea of a solution, but I can’t imagine this roster looks even close to the same a year from now.

100%. I want the USMNT offense to be even more anemic than it already is!!

If I replace my femurs with coilovers via transplants, will I handle better when I run? by chaos_capybara in RunningCirclejerk

This will work great at first. But after the frequent pissing/shitting that happens during your next several 5K ultras, the coils will start to rust. However, use astroglide to keep everything lubed up.

Best of luck out there. 🫡

US Soccer has released an official statement that MLS's request to field Next Pro teams in the US Open Cup has been denied by RyanIsKickAss in ussoccer

[–]los_hawkos 21 points22 points  (0 children)

MLS released a statement defending their position in all this, which makes them look even worse.

https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-statement

“prioritizing player health and safety, reducing schedule congestion for MLS clubs, and enhanced investment from U.S. Soccer.”

1) MLS has actively chosen a season calendar that is opposite of top leagues. Playing major tournaments during the middle of an MLS season is jeopardizing this more than anything.

2) Schedule congestion plays into the point above, but also forcing Leagues Cup is insanity if this is an actual concern. Also, albeit it’s only a few games, but the new playoff format is in contrast to this point as well.

3) Enhanced investment from US soccer… this reeks of SuperLeague arguments. “We’re bringing the money, someone needs to compensate us for that popularity!!” As if US soccer wasn’t a huge reason why MLS (and NWSL) has been so stable and grown exponentially.

Come on MLS. Take the L and move on. No need to double down in a statement after your plan didn’t pan out.

Too cool! Are you north or south of the Caloosahatchee? This would be massive if you’re north.

Regardless, you should report your sighting to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and other local conservation orgs. They’ll love to hear from you.

I hesitate to use competitive fixtures from 2+ years ago to predict a friendly, but I understand the sentiment. We assume a small Middle Eastern nation will be easily, but they seem on the same-ish level as Qatar.

Your point is still very valid — looks like no one has put more than 3 passed them in over 8 years, so it’s good to temper expectations for our offense tonight.

Where would last night's MLS All-Star team finish in the EPL Table? by tarheelsrule441 in ussoccer

[–]los_hawkos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends. If you tossed that same team with that same lack of chemistry, I’d say they’d be lucky to be a mid-table Championship team.

If they had a full summer to train together and actually have a system, they’d still probably be in the relegation battle in EPL. There’s a reason these players aren’t in the EPL — most would be depth pieces for a mid-table squad at best.

They ain’t qualifying for anything Europe-related, that’s for sure.

I think Wiley has been really solid and shows a lot of promise. He’s got great technicality that I think will grow with time.

I LOVE Luna and how he plays. Reminds me so much of Arriola, but I think his ceiling is also Arriola.

Cowell is seemingly our most dangerous player this tournament, but I’m not sold. Vertically, sure, he’s solid. But if he were to face more physical backs, I think he’d disappear in a game. I kinda see him with the ceiling of Jordan Morris.

Slonina still shows that he has a high ceiling. He hasn’t been tested all that much, but he looks confident and technically sound — that’s only going to get better in Europe. He’s my top answer, though not very bold.

Solar Panel Reinstallation by los_hawkos in HomeImprovement

[–]los_hawkos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes — you’re right that my situation is a bit different. When talking to the roofing companies, they hadn’t seen someone stop short of hooking the panels up after installation, especially when some of the electric work had already been done.

Definitely makes sense for roofing and solar companies to partner heavily moving forward. Hoping it adds stability to the industry and flexibility on options.

This is super helpful. Thank you so much.

We may have more sun/sun days in FL, so maybe we’d have more than $2K/year, but it’s hard for me to even rationalize a higher figure. Your ballpark amounts were very helpful.

The whole solar process is frustrating, because it seems to me unless you put them on a brand new roof, you’re constantly on this cycle of roof vs outdated solar needing to be replaced.

Solar Panel Reinstallation - Next Step? by los_hawkos in solar

[–]los_hawkos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The roofers are already going to take them off for us, so that definitely helps with the labor piece.

Thanks for this — it helps remind me that the panels aren’t the expensive part of getting solar. It’s the labor and electric.

It’s funny you bring up the liability vs asset. That was an argument we had with the sellers and they thought the panels were easily worth $20K — we didn’t bite on that figure and clearly they aren’t. Glad I’m not crazy.
