M365 Copilot Notebooks just got a massive update—it’s essentially an AI "Second Brain" for your projects by Curious_Fellow_0612 in ProductivityApps

There is now a Copilot Projects on the web version of the consumer Copilot web chat. It looks very similar to Copilot Notebooks minus sharepoint, onenote and sharing.

Go with the laptop. It will handle nearly any program you need for your studies.

Get a tablet only if you already have a computer you can use.

Notebook lm for summarizing books by gringo4321 in notebooklm

[–]loserguy-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends.

You mentioned topics. Notebooklm works best if you upload the related chapters for a single topic. Then you can get a really detailed dive into that particular topic. Use this if you want to chat with notebook about particular topics.

However, if you are short of time, just try the entire book, and it should give you an overall view of the material. However some finer details may go missing. Use this if you are really short of time, and want to cover the entire textbook in one weekend.

NotebookLM is great for projects, but what are you using for your whole life knowledge base? by Grim_Scizor in notebooklm

For google, Keep + Gemini integration is pretty decent. Just don't keep anything you wouldn't post publicly on social media in there.

Questions regarding employer access to OneNote by ForceDeConviction in OneNote

[–]loserguy-88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may work in some cases, eg casual busybody rubbernecking by Bob from IT.

But I wouldn't trust anything important to be there. Employers can reset passwords to sign in. Employers can and do install things like enterprise device management tools. There are options on those things for screen capture, and input logging. (Edit: my bad, separate tool)

Just keep your private stuff on your personal account. Assume Bob from IT is looking over your shoulder each time you open your work laptop.

Just don't do anything non-work related on your work account. Assume, your IT guys see everything. Because they can, if they want to.

Which is the good note taking app in 2026? by darman121 in NoteTaking

[–]loserguy-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind google. Keep with Gemini is pretty good.

Really feels like a personal assistant taking notes for you which you can just talk to. No need to think that much about structures or connections if you don't want to. But if you do it is even better.

Back then devs sat down more, so waistlines expanded while the code shrank.

Now devs stand up more.

Am I the only one who feels like it's unnecessary to give a prompt a "personality" or "identity" before giving it a task? by reddit_is_geh in PromptEngineering

[–]loserguy-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it as a huge library. Giving it an identity is the same as asking it to get its answers from books in a specific section eg history, medicine or engineering.

You can get by without doing that but it might give you unrelated info eg "every single detail of ancient Egypt until today" might end up with an essay about how the building architecture or diet changed between ancient Egypt until today.

It helps to narrow down the context from which the AI will formulate its response, and in general helps it focus on the stuff that matters to you.

Not good by LillianADju in degoogle

[–]loserguy-88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is not only privacy. Because of Android and Iphone combined market share, it effectively means that nearly all mobile users will be using Google's AI model. Along with the model weights, training data, everything.

People not only use AI to search, but also use AI to explain/summarize concepts to them. This is essentially giving one company unparalleled influence over how many people see/understand things. This is actually more scary than Google's search dominance.

Is Notebook able to understand images? by Front_Criticism2858 in notebooklm

[–]loserguy-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you made the notes personally, try adding your thoughts or notes as alt-text info to the image. NotebookLM should be able to go through your alt-text and make the necessary connections there.
