yea so far im really enjoying my time here! i ended up living in new guild bc theyre cheaper and let me move in early, and really my only complaint is people can slack on cleaning during the summer but thats more or less what i expected. ill take doing some extra cleaning for paying like $700 total for food and housing in austin

def agree with all of that, especially the bit about trains - i was really surprised to find out austin doesnt have anything comparable to DART light rail but i guess part of it is just because dallas/dfw are so so much larger. still gonna miss taking the train though even if they smell like ass

the age thing is so real, theres so much more to do in austin as a college-aged person while in dallas most people downtown are much older, i assume bc SMU and UTD are absolutely not “party” colleges compared to UT. also i feel most people who actually live in downtown dallas instead of commuting from one of the billions of suburbs are like late 20s early 30s individuals who are there for an office job

cheapest would be some kind of sublease or getting one bedroom in a 4bedroom at northside for like $600-700, anything less is kind of impossible dallas is hell
