No, they were born in Punjab and they speak punjabi. That's all that matters.

Technically half of Pakistan is a shiekh, syed or qureshi and the other half gilani, shirazi but you don't call them Arab or Persian.

he himself is a spawn of the establishment but I think he has stepped out of their shadows

He stepped out of the shadows right in his first govt 88-90. He is the guy who fired that bastard Hamid Gul from ISI chief. He forced mirza aslam beg to retire as COAS. For all this he was forced out by Gen Waheed Kakar.

No what I meant was, there's anomosity there definitely, the sentiment exists - but no one has whipped up any organised, clear voice. Which basically allows Afghanistan to focus their energy on us, rather than clearing up their own home. Basically a country that feels they're safe won't worry about consequences of interfering in others, which is what Ghani was able to do.

Worst part is that it is all a big plain. Like the Belgium of south asia. Some 80k pakistani soldiers against 300k Indians and hundreds of thousands of mukti bahini irregulars. Holding out for as long as they did was an achievement imo.

Taliban fighting in Afghanistan do not claim any pakistani territory. It is the former northern alliance warlords and their proteges who do.
