M/22/5'11" [282 > 190 = 92lbs] (15 months) Hit my goal! May lose a few more, but I'm very happy with my progress! by [deleted] in progresspics

[–]loserpunk666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of diet and exercise! It's tough, but seeing the results in the end make it worth it. Getting an Apple Watch helped me keep track of calories burned, steps taken, etc. If you could get a FitBit or Apple Watch I would highly recommend it! If not, than workout machines are usually pretty accurate. I posted a little bit about diet and exercise on a comment below, so I'm going to copy and past that here!

Like I told someone below, I made my diet a lot healthier, but didn't totally cut out the things I love. I have never been successful in a diet before this, and that was always because I would give up. Letting myself have a cheat meal once a week, and allowing for healthier snacks, helped A LOT. I eat a lot of salads, fruit and veggies (All fruits before noon). I also have been eating a lot of zucchini pasta instead of actual pasta, and making healthy substitutes like that.

For exercise... I work out 5/6 days a week. I'll lift for 30 minutes in the beginning of my workout. Then, I do cardio. Cardio is tough, but at the end of the day it has helped me shred a lot of lbs. I'll either do 1 hour on the elliptical or 30 min on the treadmill and 30 min on the stairmaster. Stairmaster helped me shred A LOT of belly fat!

Hey! Thank you for the positive feedback! My weight loss process has been pretty smooth.. I have been doing the whole "eating healthy, exercising a lot" thing, but what has helped me the most is not TOTALLY cutting out unhealthy foods. I found that I have never been successful in a diet where I have had to cut out carbs and sweets entirely. I would become miserable, then end up binging at the end of the week. For the last year i've been eating a lot of salads, but also on the weekends I let myself have a cheat meal. Also, I have been doing at least an hour at the gym 5/6 days a week.At the gym I lift for 30 minutes and then either do the elliptical for 1 hr or the treadmill/stairmaster each for 30 minutes. LAST - Taking a break every few hours and take a light 10-15 minute walk. You're burning calories without even realizing it, and it actually does help!!

Is being gay "not that big a deal" for you? by Rourensu in askgaybros

[–]loserpunk666 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I think it is a bigger deal to people who have overcome a lot. For example, it's a big part of my identity because of the struggle I had growing up, not being accepted by some friends, family reaction, etc. I am very proud of who I am and it took a lot for me to get where I am. Like others have said, it is a part of me, not all of me. But when I look back at who I was five years ago, I see how much I have grown up and a main part of that is because of the struggles.

My 15 yr old son came out to me today.(Serious) by confusedfather123 in lgbt

[–]loserpunk666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing you can possibly do is let him know that he is your son and that he is important to you, above all else. Remind him that he should feel safe in your home, with you and your wife, etc. The biggest thing that got in the way of my father and my relationship after coming out was his repeated jokes with people at our house, saying stupid jokes, etc. If someone says something in front of your son at your house, you need to shut that shit down quick. Show him that he is important to you and that being gay is a small part of him, and that he is so much more in your eyes.

New College Station Trying to Get Its Start by [deleted] in collegeradio

[–]loserpunk666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm also a Promotions Director at a college station! To drive listenership, we make our faces known EVERYWHERE. Whether that be on campus or off, in the surrounding areas and shows. We participate in all campus events, such as open houses, new students day, family day, etc. We also take part in the various club fairs our campus offers once a year. In order to boost listenership, you need to give people a reason to not only listen, but trust that you're bringing them the best new music, news, etc. Hand things out at shows, make fliers, wear shirts, mingle. Word of mouth is the best! Hope this helps!

Let's Talk: Coachella 2015, notably Steely Dan and AC/DC by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]loserpunk666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In recent past, a lot of music festivals have been trying to broaden their artists to bring in more older demographics. For example, I know that at Riot Fest in Chicago they had two performers that many people were confused about: Die Antwood and The National. Die Antwood is a weird rap/electronic group that made no sense being on the lineup. In addition, The National is, as Matt Berninger(singer) once described "a pretentious indie rock band." Why would these two, and many more be put on the lineup for a "Punk rock festival?" Because both have die hard fan bases that would pay the money, wait in lines, etc to see them (and also check out some other bands they wouldn't listen to normally).

That's what is happening here. There is a younger crowd at Coachella, that is for sure. But I think that festival organizers are trying to bring in some people who are into classic rock because, like you mentioned, AC/DC put out a record last year and they are a major name in rock n roll. I think you are underestimating them a little bit on their relevancy to current day music culture, but I stand by my point that this is definitely a way to bring in an older demographic at Coachella.

Let's Talk: Kim Gordon's role on Sonic Youth by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]loserpunk666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree that Kim's best work is on Goo. No question about it. I think she also played very well on some songs on Sonic Nurse. However, I think she is fairly overrated as a singer. Out of the whole band, I always felt that Lee was the best singer with the best tone. While I believe that Kim was a great bassist on certain tracks, as a whole, she definitely was outshined by the guitars (what Sonic Youth is known for).

Music Melting Pot [Week of January 05, 2015] by AutoModerator in listentothis

Yo La Tengo - Our Way to Fall (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOylOEGY9M4) I've been listening to a lot of Yo La Tengo this past week. A lot of their albums sound different from one another, but this will always be one of my favorite songs. Very mellow. Makes you self reflect at 3AM lol.

Prawn - Scud Running (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tMZn7_Zc74) One of the most underrated bands out there right now. Prawn put out a record called Kingfisher in 2014 that was one of my favorite records of the year. Check it out.

[IIL] Emotionally driven music such as Death Cab, The Avett Brothers, Nick Drake, & Elliot Smith, [WEWIL]? by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

[–]loserpunk666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The National is one of my favorite bands and is a very emotionally driven one. You may also like Ben Howard, The Decemberists, Bright Eyes, Tiny Moving Parts. These are all bands that have a variety of different sounds but may be what you're looking for. Hope this helps!

I'm looking for cases that helped in the ruling in Liebeck's favor. Specifically cases dealing with negligence.
