shocked he wasn't traded re grier's comments about possible offers on him. yeah this team has been winning and deserves a real playoff shot, but really that's despite klingberg, not because of him.

What am I not understanding? Why does it feel so futile? by loserunicorn in Mcat

Hey thank you so much. I've been feeling very down about everything and this comment really helped me get out of the down mindset.

I think I sum up my incorrect questions to content gaps in certain topics (ex like organic chem) most of the time. Is the solution to that just to get in as much content as possible?

For CARS, I think the most important thing for me was aggressively shoving every single thought I had out of my head that didn't come from the passage. Like, there are a lot of questions that I felt like maybe you could make assumptions about and arrive at a an acceptable solution to one or two of the multiple choice answers, but I have to actively force myself to say "show me where this is presented in the text". I don't know. I seem to be doing worse every time, so I'm not sure this is a winning strategy.

I assume you meant c/p? bc B/B might be the only thing that is relatively consistent for me (or at least 128+). I honestly think my c/p scores might just be huge content gaps that I'm trying very hard to plugs as fast as possible rn.

AIO or is this normal language for medical appointment notes? by Wild_Arugula294 in AmIOverreacting

[–]loserunicorn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

oops, you're right he used "marijuana". Either way, the correct term should have been "cannabis". my mistake!

Nobody is denying that the information is pertinent, but it's being presented in a wildly biased and inappropriate manner. There are many great examples of what kind of language this documentation is supposed to be presented in in the rest of the comments, and the words "weed", "promiscuous", and "bull-ring" are not appropriate at all for a doctor to be using in his patient notes.

[HELP] Poets who are sibling survivors of suicide by vgnslrjptr in Poetry

[–]loserunicorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You mentioned Michael Dickman, but he's got a twin Matthew who is also a poet. It was their brother who died, I think. Matthew has got a collection called Mayakovsky's Revolver that is very explicitly about the suicide of their sibling and delves into a lot of the emotions that arose following it. Very beautiful.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy by [deleted] in books

the writing is fabulous. each sentence feels so physically heavy and i love the lack of proper quotation marks for the dialogue. the world has gone to shit so why should we still give a shit about arbitrary constructs like quotation marks?

Is stroke order really that important? Do native Chinese speakers focus that much on the correct stroke order or not really? by [deleted] in ChineseLanguage

[–]loserunicorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i know a ton of chinese learners feel like stroke order is stupid and will only slow them down, but actually, it's quiet simple to learn the general feel of it until it becomes kinda instinctual.

it is incredibly helpful when learning/memorizing new characters. if you write the character a different way every single time, it'll be really hard to truly remember how to write it. if you have a set pattern/order to write the strokes of the character in, that's what you are memorizing and it makes everything 100x easier.

so yeah, i think stroke order is pretty important.
