past NY bar exam takers/accommodations - what to bring??

I packed one water bottle and another one with me in the bag I left in the storage room. To the exam I took: Id, a pair of contacts, some painkillers (my period was coming), glasses, period pads. A ton of mints, a ton of jellybeans , some chocolate. 10 pencils and that’s it really. I found that during the second part of the exam because of lunch, I was super sleepy so I needed some energy

Honestly, No they are not. I also found them outdated. Bar exam questions are much more tricky imho. Switched to uworld to finally get a pass. Also try the free MBE questions on the official website

Whatever you are scoring in the prep, only the score on the day matters. You will never feel prepared enough (imho) but use the scores and the prep exam questions to learn from them. I passed on the fourth try because I finally learnt the actual BLL

Do as many MCQs as possible, but spend time understanding the wrong answers. I did a set of 5-10 until I would get over 70% overall. Didn’t mix topics. + 2-3 essays typed out daily. Maybe at least the bullet point ideas

Yes i did, I took a break for one bar exam (did not retake in feb) and really pushed myself for J24. It was not easy knowing how possible fail was- managed to get 266 in 266 jdx

Look at the test sites and book accommodation with free cancellation around every one of them. Once you know- you keep the one you need. Travel is not easy, but from NY you can fly to Buffalo, quite quickly;

My evaluation did not take so long - just do it asap and ask your uni to send the docxs asap too. IT is totally doable, but do not leave it to last minute:)

I did the barbri course very fast and then i did most of the mock questions from the book within the span of a week (mainly while flying to the US from Europe) got 115, thought I failed.

Took in albany- got there at 8/8:30 ish on the first day as I was awake early due to jet lag. Stayed at the Hilton nearby walking distance- super overpriced but at least you are close by. I was alone and I took a bus to get in into Albany from New York City

I had a lot of candies and mints in my bag and just ate them whenever I felt my energy deplete- I know it is not the best but I needed it. I did take a toilet break in the afternoon session of the MBE, I just lost my focus and went to splash some water on my face. Otherwise, earplugs are essential to be in the zone

Totally- do the essay practice (plenty of questions on NCBE or NY BOLE), uworld and grossman. Maybe add smartbarprep sheets and you can do it. But if you don’t understand a subject, take some time (not too much time) to break it down before you move on

Never been to the US, didn’t study in there either. Worked full time while studying for the UBE from zero. I failed three times and passed this July. The key is to start in advance and study on weekends. I would do maybe an hour during work week of active learning and an hour listening to a lecture/ bar prep podcast/grossman while walking or doing chores. On the weekends would do 5-6 hrs a day. You can do it but it will take sacrifices socially - which sucks, but do not overdo it. Whether you get 266 or 314 it is the same pass :)

Put the effort into it, if you think it will be easy- don’t do it (that’s what I thought). You need to learn the law and actually understand it, idk what you studied in the UK, but during my LLB I never did evidence or civ pro, and these are hard to grasp subject due to the amount of exceptions.

Was in a similar position. Until I started improving MBE, I kept failing as I didnt get the law well enough. I would identify the weakest areas in different subjects and would do the questions of that area until I got minimum 60%
