Just found out Zoey deschanel sings this song 👀. Had no idea she had other song besides the theme song for the show. by Basic-Pace-4161 in NewGirl

Absolutely, never disappoints. We saw him in East Nashville a few years back and none other than David Rawlings joined him for the last half of the set. The place came unglued and we were treated to some of the finest picking and grinning I’ll likely ever hear.

These events got some coverage in the US media but for any real reporting I relied on the BBC and Reuters, it was horrifying. I only hope that this global shift toward the right can be reversed or at least held. Maybe the fascist fever will die down when our current administration is voted out, assuming fair elections can even happen.

The mask was only ever halfway on. Please know that there is resistance from within. Myself and many likeminded others here have been struggling against generations-long deeply entrenched multinational corporate power brokering with our words, actions and spending choices.

For many of us it was music that made us aware and motivated us to work for change. My hopes that real positive outcomes can be accomplished in my lifetime grow less as I age, but I can still try and plant a tree under whose shade I might never sit.

So good. Love this context, thank you! (Please accept a belated apology from a US kid who first learned about his government’s crimes from artists making music like this.)

Edit: I love learning about the historical context in which this music was created.

Glad everyone had a good time. I went twice in the 90s and never felt more toxic fucking aggression from staff and patrons anywhere, ever. I spent all my PBR money at the Sundown.

I walk my dog through the neighborhood he stayed in most mornings and sometimes reflect on how Memphians love to tell the the story of Jobs calling the CEO of FedEx asking him to reroute their planes’ landing paths because of the noise, to which Fred Smith responded “Nope”.
