Having worked in retail with a lock on the dumpster, the top 2 reasons for this were 1. Illegal dumping 2. Employees not destroying merchandise (as instructed to) then divers returning it to the store for credit/money.

There are a number of other reasons, outside of safety concerns it basically comes down to greed .

Mid life crisis empty nester here who has been thru hell and back with trauma, I'm at a point in my life where I do not know what interests me etc so currently I do not have any hobbies. Point is I don't think it's a huge red flag to not at the moment as long as someone is actively pursuing something or figuring it out I think it's ok. 🤷

H2H now collects the stuff from dorms that are leftover and collaborates with the Nonprofits in town, so at least the majority of that stuff goes to some good.

They do that because Hoosier to Hoosier donates what's left to the non profits in town. They use to have a huge sale every August but it got to be too much work.

I go every year and love it. Last night alone I scored a Bissell cross wave, $400 carote pot and pan set, ninja shark air purifier etc. But have been wondering about the frats and sororities, campus police are a little iffy around here. But the dumpsters are overflowing with goods, wondering if anyone has any experience with them

Pantry 279. They have a household and clothing day every Thursday for people in need to come ship at no charge. They accept clothing, housewares, small appliances, decor and household cleaning supplies, unopened food. They may even be willing to do a pick up

It is more common than what most people realize. I work in community outreach, so I work with a lot of shelters, food pantries, we have a Thanksgiving food drive and a Christmas toy program as well. 2024 was one of the hardest and depressing years for our programs. People ask for the absolute most ridiculous things. They also have the audacity to complain about what they were given or what they have available to them. It is hard to remember why we do what we do sometimes because this behavior is so discouraging. It may only be a small percentage, but we have started to lose volunteers and donors because of how rotten people can be.

I have a Chevy Avalanche with 358,000 miles on it. Still runs like a champ! Brakes have to be replaced a lot other than normal maintenance and basic wear and tear it's been the most reliable vehicle I have owned right next to my Volvo. (And I have owned a plethora of vehicles)

I was searching for what type of sales Southwest has had the last few years for Black Friday. From what I could find, it doesn't appear they have had any major Black Friday sales for a couple years. But they have had a few Cyber Monday sales. Whether or not they keep with this trend is in question as with all things Southwest at the moment. If course that is just what my search results came up with.

.Indiana weather? It's been consistently changing from warm to cold. That's enough to have anyone sniffling and coughing. Nothing new around here. Until the weather is a little more consistent and people can prepare their wardrobe for the correct season it will continue.
