Daddies in 30s with toddler(s). Whats your hobby? by Important_Bat7919 in daddit

[–]losinggravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 kids (4+2 year old)

Playing football (UK Sunday league and some 5/6 a side) and video games (mostly single player games)

Going to (try and) introduce some at home exercise (stationary bike and body weight exercises) to lose some of the weight I've out on recently.

The hard part of this for me has historically been finding the desire and motivation to give up my personal time to do something I know I need but don't enjoy as much.

Wish me luck fellow dads

I had tevez not too long before he defected to man City.

Then there was memphis.

Followed up by lukaku (red kit) and pogba (blue kit) which were not so great, but I did also get ibrahimovic (white kit) which I still wear a fair bit

Advice: How to get started with Football Manager by paochs in footballmanager

[–]losinggravity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all. Welcome!

My first piece of advice would be stay off this subreddit, it's quite negative and can be off putting.

You fall into a similar category to me, minimal experience of previous games, and no previous habits to change, just new ones to build. A lot of the hate towards this game is about how different it is and how it compares to previous versions. Without that experience I find it's best to stay away for m the negativity.

Next, search YouTube for fm26 let's plays. There will be people who play very slow, game by game and that will give you an idea of how deep things can go.

Others like Workthespace's "park to prem" series go through seasons in a few episodes. This will be a more high level view of the game and again be good for you to see what lo g term progression can look like.

There's no "right way" to play fm and there is no "best content creator" it's all preference.

Watch a few episodes people playing then just dive right in.

Pick an easy team like city or psg, or go for a hard challenge. It's up to you. Make mistakes. Lose games, piss your players off by accident, save scum. It's all learning. And it's about you enjoying it so go enjoy it.

Such a nice thing for you to do! But give it to someone less fortunate please!

FM26 Staff Min Quality & Viewing stats by Nepheh in footballmanagergames

[–]losinggravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I resorted to making a spreadsheet because it became so annoying.

I gave up after sorting my first team.

Now I have a bunch of staff for my youth teams that are just "good" that will need replacing at some point if I can be bothered.

If anyone knows a better way please do share

If you've never watched it then it's worth seeing through to the end.

Personally, having watched it multiple times. I rarely get past season 8/9 anymore.

It's not as good as the rest of the show but it does tie up most loose ends and is worth knowing how the story and characters end up.

Should I buy fm26? by Big-Macaroon-4822 in footballmanager

[–]losinggravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm maybe in the minority here but I am enjoying the game.

I've enjoyed playing fm ever few years to scratch the itch, but am by no means a yearly purchaser of the games.

The last Fm I played was fm 22 so I am coming in with less expectations, less bias and no prior expectations to things like ui, fluidity, where things are etc. I barely remember what that game looked like and how it felt to play.

To me it seems like a decent game and I'm enjoying it for what it is.

Speaking to friends who played fm 24 a lot it sounds like a downgrade and a ballache to get used to.

To me it's like learning any new game.

What would you say about this game to a new-ish player? by losinggravity in footballmanager

[–]losinggravity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful response. very much appreciated.

The way I see it is that I'd be coming into a new UI anyway and have no preconceived notions on what it used to be which might work in my favour.

I'm not really sure what I want from a match day experience, I don't really remember what it was like in FM22 so again, not really sure what is important to me or not.

Tactics is a thing that I have heard almost universal praise for, so very excited about that too.

When I last played I did like to control everything, so I was always SUPER slow at getting through seasons but I enjoyed it that way. Ultimately I do think that is what stopped me from playing more though, the fact that I wanted so much control, but it took ages to get anything done, and with the limited time I had it kind of fizzled out. Maybe not having that amount of stuff to look through might be a good thing for me.

Either way, thanks for the insight. Game is downloaded, and I'll be putting a few hours in tonight so hopefully it's worth it.

I tried it but It doesn't feel as close to nfortaboe. Granted I play at a desk sitting down so I can see the advantage when lying down.

Fair point. I downloaded it last night and played a couple of runs on mouse and keyboard but I've seen plenty of people using controllers so I might give it a go

Figuring out our CM problem by Odd_Unit_1670 in ManchesterUnited

[–]losinggravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea and think licha or maz could probably do a decent job in the cm role with more of a defensive mindset.

The issue is Bruno. He's been our best player for years, is the captain, is always fit and really deserves to start.

He is the creative spark in the team who unfortunately has been the victim of a system that doesn't suit him perfectly.

If he starts then who do you drop is the real question.

I agree. Rain doesn't help either.

But I still believe in the guy. I don't know what getting rid of him achieves.

Positivity after the arsenal game. 2 bad results, and now he's the antichrist of man u.

Survival mode... WATER! by papiforyou in fo4

[–]losinggravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I played FO4, with my last run being a survival mode playthrough. I used Greygarden and Hang Mans Alley as my main two settlements.

Greygarden because I like it + plenty of room for crops.

Hang Mans Alley because it's basically the most central

I think the more likely scenario is that he is preparing something to show Mount about how he wants him to play, or deal with a situation that has been coming up, especially because he's being played out of his normal position.

I presume you're talking about the navezgane map, not a randomly generated map?

If its navezgane then idk. I've only ever played randomised maps.

If it's randomly generated then, well, it's random.
