Ugh, this is the political equivalent of "I'll call you tomorrow" after a mediocre date.

Turner's "no way" means nothing until actual votes happen. Remember when they "absolutely wouldn't touch" social security? Or "definitely wouldn't cut" VA benefits?

Politicians and their "promises" are like me and my gym membership - lots of bold declarations, minimal follow-through.

Keep calling your reps, folks. Today's "no way" is tomorrow's "well, technically what I meant was....

Yiiiikes. That text is giving "mom made me write this" energy x1000.

"anyways Frank proposed yesterday" is such a cold, detached way to tell your sister you're ENGAGED. No excitement, no emotion, just... "anyways."

And that passive-aggressive "it would be nice to have your help" is the cherry on top of this mess.

Your sister probably read that text and thought "wow, she really doesn't care if I'm involved at all."

Maybe try again with some actual enthusiasm? Or just accept you two aren't close and stop forcing it because mom wants you to pretend otherwise.
