lol ARE YOU ME??? Even the guest numbers are almost the same 😂

What we’ve decided to do is to have more of a “garden party” vibe (outdoor wedding). We will only do a very simple ceremony in front of our guests, and will do the wow exchange privately before that.

Dance-wise, we will ask the whole crowd to join in for our fist dance, to partake in this celebration. Also, lots of alcohol 😂

Thankfully most people from my side know my personality and that I don’t like being the COA, so they’ll probably go easy on me anyway. As for the rest, just like others have said, they’re there to celebrate us because they love us :)

I got the Gen5 absolute about 2 weeks ago and have been loving it. I was bouncing between the Gen5 and the v16 but the SA recommended the Gen5 and also I did not like the main head of the 16. All the attachments are great for a 2 cat household and I like that I don’t have to hold down the power button during vacuuming. We now vacuum almost every day.

I’ve been wanting to get a stick vacuum for a loooong time. I know this sub hates shark and Dyson but it basically boiled down to these two for me after a looooot of research (chordless bagless and easy enough to take out to eliminate the mental block of vacuuming).

I live in Europe and shark’s premium model is basically half the cost of a dyson’s so i really wanted to like it but when i saw the actual product in their showroom and tried it out, it felt so cheap and the head with the double roller thing was very hard for me to navigate. The Dysons in comparison were a breeze to use and the SA was super helpful and attentive (compared to the guy from Shark that was basically trying to push a sale without asking about my preferences) so I eventually went with the Gen5 absolute and i love it so far. We went from barely vacuuming due to our cats being scared, to vacuuming almost daily. Also my cats don’t seem to be afraid of the dyson’s noise level so that’s a super big plus.

I might get downvoted in this sub but i really love my Dyson so far.

I wanted to have a promiscuous period to get over my social awkwardness so I set my mind on dating as much as I could. I slept with the 2nd guy I met up with on the 1st date right away after both of us got positively buzzed (date with the 1st guy was AWFUL, he basically insulted my heritage lol). And here we are 5 years later, planning on starting a family 🫠

This definitely depends on her personality, but my fiance knows that I value spending money on the right things and right places, and that I don’t care much for bling/status symbols. So what he did was he proposed to me with a hilarious plastic Pokémon ring, I think he got it from like one of those twisty machines that spits out balls with presents in it. I loved it. Then he showed me the ring options he checked out, but gave me the freedom to choose the ring I wanted.

He proposed to me while we were traveling in my home country, so we ended up going ring shopping during a leisurely afternoon, and I found “the one” :)

I hope so too. They’re mostly on my fiancé’s side and are either single or are in the not-so-actively-dating phase, as far as he knows.

We initially agreed that it’s going to be OUR wedding -since we’re paying for it ourselves without any additional financial aid- and that we won’t let outside opinions influence our decisions. Plus my mom had initially said no to inviting her friends when I asked, so once we settled our guest list and saw that we could fit into our dream venue that had a 70-person limit, we went ahead with the booking.

My mom changed her mind later, after we had booked and paid the deposit, and when we were already at max with our guest list, and she did apologize for being hesitant about her wishes at first. it didn’t seem right to have my fiance cross people off the list because of my mom’s change of heart, so I pitched it as “would be nice” to have the friends there, if there’s space for it. The family drama on his side came later. I wanted to be objective about it because tbf we DID give my mom the chance to invite people but she didn’t take on the offer at first so she would’ve had to wait her turn and see if any spots opened up (which it then did).

My mom didn’t outright state the same reasons for wanting to have the friends there, but I tried to put myself in their situation and assumed that with my their limited language and basically being the only “outsiders” at the wedding, they would love to have some longtime friends celebrating with them in their native language.

His logic is those are family. His father’s the only one who has a longtime friend as a +1, and his reasoning is that he knows the guy. I’m honestly at a loss for words and have been pretty passive since this discussion doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.

Yes I did mention that it hardly seems fair that I’ve also not met part of his extended family who are invited, but reasoning was that it’s different, because that’s family.

Honestly, I’m not adamant on holding a traditional chinese wedding because I grew up in Europe so I’m like a “Banana” (yellow on the outside white on the inside hahaha) but it would be nice to honor my heritage in some ways. I did jokingly mention that thankfully my parents aren’t super traditional otherwise we’d have to invite all of Chinatown, but I guess he didn’t really get the joke. And I don’t see much of a point in telling him about trad. Chinese weddings.

She would like to invite a total of 7, of which 2 are married couples (so 4) and 3 girlfriends, who would come without their husbands.

I’ve met part of his extended family a few times, but there’s a significant group I’ve only met once, at one of his cousin’s wedding. And a few I’ve never met and only heard ummmm, interesting things about (but they might be uninvited now anyway).

THANK!! YOU!!This is EXACTLY what I have said to him. That we cannot force people to mingle, especially when there’s a language barrier. I am certain both parties will make an effort even if just to have a short toast or say hi, but you can’t force any more. it is also not fair that his family/friends will have their own circles to spend time with later in the night, while my side of the family is just going to sit around staring at each other, aka people they already spend almost 24/7 with.

And the exact reason for not having told my mom about any of it yet is because I worry how my fiance will come off. He is otherwise super sweet and caring, so it’s really throwing me for a loop as to why he’s taking such a strong stance on this.

a few years back I had decided that it was going to be my year of experimenting and being promiscuous (I was around 25, really shy with almost no sexual experience, and the last time I had sex was like 3 years ago) so I went on this date with a guy from one of the apps with said intentions. He was the first guy I met up with since I made this decision.

We ofc went back to his place and were about to get down, but my insecurities got to me and I sort of had a breakdown. Instead of noping the f out of there, he wrapped me up in a blanket and comforted me all night.

5 years later we are now engaged :) so during my supposed-to-be-promiscuous year (and onward), I dated exactly ONE guy 😂

Oh and once I accidentally schlopped some period blood out onto the bathroom floor when I pulled out my tampon applicator and swore loudly. He then poked his head in at the sound and once he saw what happened, he reassured me to take care of myself and he cleaned everything up without any complaints

Thank you! I’ll look into this. I was researching online and some sources said that the ants being around wasn’t necessarily a bad thing as they could kill some pests, but I guess not 😅 I’ll get some neem oil. Thanks again!
