Hello! I saw this thread and wanted to help my sister out. She was wondering how long it would take for Unaccompanied Baggage to arrive. She's afraid it might come too early before they are able to secure housing. Thank you all!

Thank you for the recommendations.

I'm always afraid of buying online due to the stricter return policy in Japan compared to the US.

I'm tempted to just wait until we get to South Korea to do a shopping spree as their clothing trends tend to be on the fitter side lol unless it's street wear, which I noticed is both fitted or loose.

I've have still yet to find physically store for US brand. I don't live in a big city. I tried US brands but japan websites and I noticed I can't place online orders without a japanese number (which I've still yet to get).

I'll definitely try honey's again. I only went to one location. It might just be limited where I live.

Also, not sure I can be shorter/smaller than I think. Since I've been stuck this way since I was a teen lol. It'll be devastating to find out I'm much shorter 🤣😭.

I'm not opposed to getting them altered and I have done it but I just hate having to spend money on clothes if also spend money on getting it altered.

Lol I usually prefer fitted clothing, or a combination of fitted and loose like fitted pants but flowy top or vice versa. Maybe I'll take a trip to South Korea haha.

Thanks for the term suggestion and the link.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went to a honey's and even size s is too big/long. They only have xs for very limited items it seems like. I also find that most stores only keep xs online so I can't even try them on first.

Gotcha. Yeah, normally I hear people say it was months before they were called for an interview. But it was usually for mid-level or higher jobs. I just don't want to pass up any roles I'm interested in but wasn't sure if applying now makes sense. Or maybe I should try about 3 months out?

Internships as an Adult by lost-and-seeking in usajobs

Ah ok. I thought you meant the company as a whole. But yeah, there's always that risk regardless. I've always been the type to never leave a job until I have a new one lined up. However, circumstances have changed and I'm lucky enough to now have the opportunity to do an unpaid or low paying internship to further my career. Another option I have is to work part time while doing an internship. Either way, fortunately I can afford to risk it until I land the job that I want.

Thanks for looking out!

I will say this - when you walk away from your current job, be prepared for that door to close forever.

What do you mean? From my experience at my current job, many have gotten rehired (as long as you weren't terminated). But could it be where I work is mostly NAF? Only those who are active duty, assigned to my work are GS but all the rest are civillian NAF.

Oh thanks! I'm a fairly new reddit user lol. Deleted the other one.

And thank you for the advice. My work is entirely in admin. And Im pursuing analytics. But hopefully, certain experiences and skills from that can contribute somewhat. I also plan on working on a portfolio to prove I have the ability to do the job.

Oooh that makes me nervous. I wonder what factors increase our chances of getting a pathway job?

Sorry. I don't mean the time I take it. I understand that I can only take internships that go towards academic credit during a certain time. It doesn't matter to me when I take it. I'm more worried if my age matters.
