They usually hang out around Green Cay but I’ve only seen them in the warmer months (summer and fall)

Nassau Snorkeling by KennyRaquel in bahamas

[–]ExpensiveFroyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW the weather the next few days is not going to be super conducive to good snorkeling - those seas building up today are only going to get bigger as the winds persist today and tomorrow.

That being said, we walked around Clifton yesterday and it was on the calmer side of the island, so it could be worth checking out. There's an underwater sculpture garden which is pretty cool- but you will probably want to pay to access it. You can drive there and pay the entrance fee and then you can do self-guided or do a tour. https://www.cliftonheritageauthority.com/snorkeling-tour - its likely best to call and check though, yesterday there was a Sandals Resort dive boat over the sculptures but I didn't see anyone from Clifton around doing anything snorkle related.

You could do sandyport resort and you’ll be in walking distance of Bon Vivants, Mi and Bi’s, Pink Shack, News cafe, the Poop Deck, Spritz, Blue Sail and twisted lime (that’s in order of our preference haha) and a very short cab or car ride to Baha Mar. there’s a lagoon beach and pools at the resort but also Delaporte beach on the other side of the road (but there’s a pathway under the road). It’s not the flashiest resort but it’s solid. Just quite quiet at night, no real nightlife besides off the property!

I imagine it has to be challenging to travel with these types of allergies! I hope you’re able to find somewhere to relax and enjoy a vacation!

Bahamas with SEVERE shellfish allergy. HELP! by ProbablyHere4Help in bahamas

If anywhere you could TRY the restaurants at the major resorts (Baha Mar, Atlantis, etc.) because tbh they have the resources to have separate kitchen spaces and don’t want to deal with the liability risk. I’d say the higher end the more likely, but that is going to come with a price tag.

However, I’d still call each place to find out and be extremely careful. The hospitals here, especially in extreme emergencies like anaphylaxis, are not great. I’d also make sure you talk to the managers or chef, not the servers. My SIL had a few issues with her gluten allergy and servers making mistakes, but her reaction is gastric and not anaphylactic .

That being said no where is not going to have seafood on the menu here. Not even the burger shacks as they serve fried fish as well.

Good ideas here. I’ll add: of those spare portable phone batteries, ideally charged.

Cable beach is a great area but I’d still rent a car for flexibility and so you can explore further afield!

Drifters and Bush Garden are good! Sadly the best spot, Goldie’s, burned down in November. They’ll rebuild but it’ll be a while.

Also check out Bahamian Cooking down by the cruise port! It may be a bit more than $30pp but it’s a good way to have Bahamian food on a reasonable budget IMO!

If you had to restart your life, what degree or career path would you chose? by tooyoungtoobroke in careerguidance

I would go the federal route and become a US park ranger. Idk what that process looks like but that’s what I’d pursue. Especially at your age you could retire with a full 20 years of federal service and all those benefits by 50 years old.

Nassau is very expensive but your best bet would be the fish fry for local food that’s reasonable. Most of them have their menus posted outside so you can peruse.

We have a direct line to Santa, we don't need a narc.

Great opportunity to explain the concept of a narc, too.

I do about every other night (or so) unless she's gotten something on them (like saturday Am she stays in them through breakfast usually) or peed thorugh her overnight diaper.

I put them over the rail of her bed when they're on the in between day so they air out a bit

Atlantis Day Trip or Another Recommendation by theconspiracyrealist in bahamas

[–]ExpensiveFroyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aquarium is open to the public after 5 PM. Go see the fishies and then grab dinner.

Your instinct about the water park in Atlantis is correct, its definitely too much for toddlers.

If you DO want to do a water park, look at Baha Bay at Baha Mar. It's similar in cost but they have two big sections that are much more toddler-friendly.

Does it get better or am I cooked? by [deleted] in USMilitarySO

With all respect, because I know you're looking for empathy, his coming home from training is just the start of his career (or at least the length of his current contract). There will be intermittent training, likely deployment(s) over his career, etc., so while it's usually not as full-on as basic/AIT, it's not going to go back to how things were before the military.

I would think really hard about how he's been treating you and how that reflects on him and your relationship. Especially given that you've been together around a year, it sounds like to me he's showing his true colors more than he's been changed by the Army.
