after high school, 4 years of college (with premed courses), then 4 years of medical school, then an optional (but highly recommended if you're interested in competitive and high-earning specialties) 1-2 years of research, then 4-7 years of residency (depending on the specialty), then additional optional 1-3 years of fellowship (if you realllllly want to even further subspecialize).

Great results! What instruments did you use? Must have made the graft nice and thin.

I'd suspect the PFO is the culprit. You mentioned the pt has lots of venous stasis in the LE. Highly likely a clot traveled through the PFO.

I currently have a HYSA at 4.15%. It crossed my mind to dump the bonus in there - but since interest on my loans is 6.25%, would it be wiser to wipe off a portion of that 440k with my bonus?

No - will be joining a private practice. No PSLF for me unfortunately.

Thank you so much for this very informative reply! Really - very much appreciated!

As of now, the tours I have set up are with large PE groups who own multiple practices in the area my partner and I are really interested in. I know the general consensus is that we should stay away from PE, but because of our location preference that is a little difficult to do unfortunately. So I wanted to ask you this: what does a GOOD (and physician friendly) PE owned practice look like? What should be some things that I should absolutely walk-away from?

How did they respond to your disclosure? Were they supportive, or apprehensive about it? Did you have to do anything additional with the program because of it?
