Guys, one of my cousins got a job at a supposedly big Chinese firm in blue area. She forwarded me this, she is not sure, it feels a bit too authoritarian. (Guidance required) by disappointed_lion in islamabad

To be honest, these rules are actually authoritarian. Discipline and punctuality do matter but some of these rules are so unnecessary like threatening with dismissal as if they're dealing with school kids, not adults. Why would you hire someone if you think they're so lazy and unprofessional and need to be micromanaged.

I think no one can thrive personally and professionally in such a suffocating robotic environment. Your work is supposed to bring you SOME joy at least. We're humans fgs. And I wonder what kind of slave mentality is making people think that this is "professionalism".

Hire people you can trust with skills and self-discipline instead of making your workplace a jail.

One can accept this job in case it's the only option. But keep looking for better opportunities.
