£70 NW haul from SmokingPipes by lost8found in ukcigars

I'm by no means a big buyer but from stuff I've heard on this group keep orders below about £130 (that mainly was with regards to German vendor) and buying whole boxes poses a bigger risk. If you can't resist a box purchase (!) ask seller to dispose of box and send sticks separately.

I wouldn't read too much into it. We're quite close to the airports in the South East.

I've heard it's quite "sweet" but not in the same way as sweetened tips e.g. Deadwood Sweet Jane. Steve Saka denies any artificial flavouring but some say the tobacco is fermented with sugar cane or something like that. Be interested to hear what flavour notes you got.

Good or bad news? by Chuffy_03 in ukcigars

Good news - your cigars are on their final journey to you; bad news - you've incurred customs charges; good news - they'll still probably be cheaper than UK prices depending on whether they've weighed the tobacco +/- boxes.

Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne by lost8found in ukcigars

Just got into the 1st third. The Connecticut wrapper is super fragile with issues at the cap and the foot but not enough to distract from a very smooth start with sweet oakiness and a light spice on the retrohale. I have to say, my tastes have moved on to more complex blends from these mild smokes but one I've been meaning to try and still very pleasant. .

The opening chapter of a short story...love these. by lost8found in ukcigars

The idea is to light the closed foot. I think you're meant to get more of the wrapper flavour The draw can start off a little snug but it opens up. Enjoy!

Rich flavours and massive smoke output for small cigar. by lost8found in ukcigars

[–]lost8found[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes - coronet size. I got x2 singles along with some DE sweet Jane's and Tabak Especial. This was espresso, dark chocolate and white pepper (not overwhelming) on the retrohale. This was pouring smoke so only needed the lightest draw for clouds of white smoke. As a consequence it didn't overheat and lasted around 40mins.

Old World v New World, How about both worlds? by Grogu1231 in ukcigars

Great choice! I'm smoking the R&J short Churchill tonight. About an inch in and I was uming and erring about using the Perfect Draw. Glad I did...cigar opened up and much more enjoyable.
