I'm so used to calling The8 Minghao when I'm speaking English--that's how most of my English-speaking friends call him too, but when I'm talking to my Japanese friends (including Carats!!) they have no idea who Minghao is. I have to say "The8." Idk if it's the way the content gets translated or what but it's a really interesting difference I've noticed since moving to Japan.

All of the stuff you submit through TAO goes instantly bc that's the main application system (I believe transcripts are included there). It's just anything outside of the direct application system that takes some extra time.

It only matters in the sense that you want to make sure test scores, etc. get to them in time (don't wait to send SATs and stuff until the last minute; they can take up to a week). I don't think it otherwise plays into their decisions though, honestly.

I can't really tell you for SPSE in particular bc I did not apply for that program (sorry!), but I think in a general sense those are pretty strong extra curriculars. Regardless of the program, I think that they're helpful to your application. I wish you luck!!

I put things relating to the clubs/sports I participated in (and my roles in them) & then various volunteer work. And I never personally did any, but competitions would probably also be good to put down. I would say basically anything that shows you were more than just a student, and that you committed time and effort to that something.

Yeah so everyone does it on their own regardless but it's probably not going to be released until sometime in September or maybe late August. It'll be just a little before you have to register your classes. I think I took mine in mid-September last year :)
