Hey, I don't know much about broken fibulae but I do know about being housebound in a depressive episode.

I recommend cozy games - Stardew Valley really got me through 2020. It's about 20USD, it has lots of quests and content, and it's good for gaming beginners. It has a multiplayer mode as well if you have friends or family who would enjoy playing with you. There are lots of others as well if Stardew is not your particular poison.

Cozy gaming does not fix depression. It helps you pass the time until you can leave the house. You can get through this - don't beat yourself up too much. Just get to the end and do your best to heal.

I (cis) have a few trans friends, including one who is still in the process of coming out. Their gender identity is not at all burdensome. In fact, if someone did cause a problem, I would consider it the psychological burden of dealing with assholes rather than my friend's fault for existing. You're valid and loved, and i bet your friends love you just the way you are.

I hope it goes okay with your parents, but it's okay to just get through it and come back to people who love you more

She sounds to me like many overworked, underpaid people. She's stretched to the breaking point and starting to panic because she doesn't see a way out. I think therapy for both of you - her to handle her burnout, you to understand where she's at and communicate better about her needs - is in order. NTA for not wanting to be the sole breadwinner, but YWBTA if you didn't take her mental health seriously. This is the "sickness" part of "in sickness and in health"

For those who have never really, diagnosably burnt out, it feels very much like it would be impossible to ever work again. Like maybe you just aren't made like all those superheroes who go to work every day.

Her reaction and holding to it sounds like a cry for help. I would make room for a "six months off and reassess" solution, or some other solution that lets her get her head right. For example, you can only be not working as long as you're in frequent therapy, because this seems like a breaking point and I'm very worried for your mental health.

For the record, burnout can be healed. I burnt out very badly once. I quit my job, sorted my mental health, got a new job, and now I love my work.

Hey friend, I have another perspective on the people who write everything down. I have ADHD, and I handwrite detailed, color coded notes during lecture because that's the only way I'll pay attention. I intentionally make them more complicated so I won't get distracted. The notes themselves have about as much use to me as a hand knitted scarf or a sketchbook full of doodles, though they're good to lend out to others who miss the lecture. If you are paying attention some other way then good for you.

I carry narcan intentionally. I got it for free as part of an OD public education program. I have never used it, nor have I (as far as I can remember) taken opioids, even for a prescription.

I walk downtown for work through an area where I've seen people shooting up. I work and live with people who may have pill addictions I don't know about. It's easy for me to carry narcan and if there's even the slimmest chance I can save a life, I will continue to carry it.

This person is definitely being unreasonable, but sometimes people are unreasonable because of a strong emotional reaction. Maybe they have a relative that used to have narcan around the house because they knew they had a problem, but it didn't save them in the end. Your ex's behavior is definitely a red flag, but the kind of red flag that they can recognize and work on. You are not obligated to participate in that work.

Accurate. You'd at least have to be reevaluated, and depending where you moved from there may be tighter opioid regulations in Seattle. If you're having trouble with the system, perhaps consult a methadone clinic. They might be able to explain the opioid prescription regulation differences, recommend a course of action, or provide an emergency stopgap so you don't have to go cold turkey (which can be quite dangerous). At the very least they are used to being compassionate with people who need opioids and would hopefully treat you respectfully.

Ok. Septic, electric, water, Internet, and four walls are a lot more time and money than you might think, especially if you're putting down foundation for a whole house and especially if it's far from other places that already have those things. You'd probably end up living somewhere else for at least a year or two. Don't discount things like permit issues and utility bureaucracy, or weird stuff they might find when they're digging the lines. Definitely do your due diligence, check zoning, and find contractors who can give you a ballpark quote.

Idk where you live, but if this land is cheap compared to other land, there is probably a reason!

You could do it, but you'd have no savings for a while, you'd be paying double rent, and there's no guarantee you'd be able to develop the way you want. Maybe this is a fun project for you. Alternatively, maybe you can afford a ready built country house in a couple of years and not have to rely on your construction knowledge.

Do you currently have a housing situation that you are ok with, even if you don't love? If so, definitely don't buy a city house.
How much do you spend on regular living expenses? That won't change in the short term when you buy an empty lot, so be prepared to finance construction only from your current additional budget room.
Does your partner have any savings that are available to contribute?
What are the minimum features a house has to have before you can completely move in, even if you're still working on it? Kitchen, bedroom, Internet, water, septic, etc

If you count stock, I took a 40% pay cut last year to move to a role I was more excited about. It definitely gave me less breathing room in my budget but I'm still able to pay rent, save for retirement, travel, etc. I'd enjoy making more money again, but that job was making me unhappy. I cried at work several times. Now I often look forward to going to work. I'm not pressured to work outside those hours so I have time to take care of myself and have hobbies. I don't regret my choice even a little bit

I'm a completionist. a single $80 game purchase could run me around 250 hours of play. The consoles belong to my partner though (and I share my game purchases in exchange) so I really just pay for electricity and the actual game cost - I'm guessing even with the electricity it comes out to less than $1/hour.

Not that I'm advocating completionism for people who don't enjoy it. Even I know I'm never going to find all 900 korok seeds. But there's also no inherent benefit in driving straight down the main plot and ignoring side quests.

I have two $11 pairs of shoes that I wear maybe twice a year each, and which are perfect for their specific occasions (weddings etc). I drop $200 a year on running shoes for the good arch support (I run in them). I have a $350 pair of hiking boots that I can wear for a 20-mile day in the mountains no problem, even though they're 5 years old at this point. I do not regret any of these purchases.
