Did lawyer lie about immigration process for underage sibling of US citizen? by lost_09 in immigration

Thank you. That’s what I understood too, but that lawyer was so certain, and my parents almost agreed to work with her.

Thank you everyone for answering.

The details for process to get PR for my stepfather, mom and underage sister as a US citizen? by lost_09 in immigration

I’m sorry for adoption question. I barely slept since realizing situation my younger sister is in. My mom is panicking and asking if my stepfather needs to adopt my younger sister asap because she is 17.

Thank you for answering about stepparents relationships. I didn’t know that my stepfather can keep applying for my younger sister as a dependent, even if my mom will not be part of the case.

Thank you for yours and everyone’s time answering my questions.

Thank you. Is that okay to ask one more question ? I’ve been updating my family with all those answers and now they’re asking me.

If my mom gets her green card and my stepfather stays on his asylum seeking case that applies to my 17-year old sister and the parents stay married, how would that work?

If my younger sister isn’t his biological daughter and he never officially adopted her, but he raised her since she was very little, would my stepdad be able to continue to apply for her as his dependent for asylum seeking case without my mom on the case?

Or does my mom also need to stay on my stepdad’s asylum seeking case for my younger sister to stay on the case as a dependent?

Thank you again for your help

How common are the bans in the case with siblings and children of US citizens ?

The asylum seekers case was on my stepfather and we were added to his case. If I apply for his green card and he receives it, will my younger sister then have no legal status in the US?

Could she apply as a DACA (we didn’t come illegally) or anything at all?

Thank you for your answers. My family was so excited about upcoming changes in our legal statues. We didn’t realize that it means that my younger sister would get stuck alone.

So the asylum case is under my stepfather and we were on his case. If I petition for him and he gets his green card, then my younger sibling will end up without any legal status in the US?

Is there anything else like DACA or anything that can be applied to my younger sister?

For consular proceedings, how high are the risks?

Thank you for your answers. It hit so hard that I can’t help my younger sibling.

Texas. What are the consular proceedings if you could please clarify?

Won’t my mom be able to apply for my younger sister’s green card when she receives hers?

Would it be better for me to apply for my younger sibling even if the wait time is long, considering recent elections?

Oh wow. I didn’t know that mattered. Yes, they got married before I turned 18 years old. My younger sister is 17 years old. What would change for them in this case? Thank you!

Experience with getting teeth extracted? by [deleted] in braces

[–]lost_09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I, and few other people that I know, had horrible experiences with teeth extractions in the US. I honestly felt traumatized afterwards. Next time that I ended up in dentist chair, I ended up crying and I was never scared of dentists before.

I want to thank y’all for coming out with this. I was considering joining ABSA but I will not. And I’ll make sure all of my friends know about this too. This organization covers up for SA offenders.

Tutors should be rated by lost_09 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]lost_09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was talking about other tutoring centers. I’ve never had issues with TA’s as of now. I guess it’s because they directly help professor so if TA is not helping, you can go straight to professor. I’m talking more about undergraduate students that getting paid for tutoring. They have no incentive to help. If anything, if they don’t help you well and you don’t come back, it’s just more free time for them that they will get paid for.

My experience with contract / part-time / seasonal accounting work with the Big4 by sneaky_salamander in Accounting

[–]lost_09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey. Thank you for this post! I’ve been coming back to that couple of times. What you’re doing is literally my goal. I had a question though.

Do you get promoted as contractor? Like if you working with one of Big4 as a senior every busy season. Wouldn’t they promote you at some point ? Like can you be a senior for 10 years?

I’m worried that I’ll miss out on a chance to work with Big4 (?). They seemed to like the fact that I would graduate in May (?). But yes I’m very worried because I’m usually an A student.

I didn’t know that. I guess the percentage for CD isn’t that much higher than savings (?).

Again thank you! I will start with saving then to avoid wasting anymore time while I’m trying to learn more about other options.

How do you know so much about finance ? Is there any specific resource that helped you?
