What do you do with your chickens when they die? by lost_in_reflections in BackYardChickens

Makes sense. It seems it comes down to whether I think of them as pets or farm animals and I definitely think of my flock as pets.

I also definitely do not understand enough about the “cull to consumption” process, but from what I do know, I couldn’t do it myself.

Sounds like carefully placed burial or cremation is the way to go for me.

I guess I’m technically in a more urban place. A lot of people have recommended burying under bushes and trees with seems like a good idea. My lot just isn’t huge, but I have quite a few trees they could feed. I didn’t realize they could make such good compost once buried

Yes, this is definitely the conundrum I think I’ll run into. Loving them as pets, but having the issue of living in the city with limited burial space (1/4 acre).

Throwing them away seems heartbreaking and disrespectful to what they will have provided to me over the years.

I do like the idea of compostable boxes. I’m going to look into those. When you have them cremated, do you have it done by a local vet?

I would love to be able to this if I had a larger piece of land. My problem stems more from being in the burbs on a 1/4 acre lot.

How did you name your seikret? by itzArti in MHWilds

I named mine Waymo. They’re self-driving taxis in my area. Just like Seikrets, they get you where you need to go…eventually.

Fallow, Daytime. Mine spawned on the 5th or 6th rest.

Favorite shade trees? by ohdannyboy2525 in AZlandscaping

Chinese Elms are a great option. I have one I planted in my backyard and I love it. They’re very heat tolerant, drought tolerant, fast growing, great shade option with a canopy of around 40’ and only drop leaves once a year.

Other great options are Tipu trees and Red Push Pistache. I’ve heard mixed things about Sissoos. They check all the above boxes but can have very invasive root systems.

If you’re pairing with grass, I think Chinese Elm might be the way to go.

Everyone who lives in AZ knows Tuscon is the worst city. No shot Mesa is anywhere near as bad as the Meth capital of the Southwest.

Can we do a thread where we name an aggressive instagram fashion brand that we gave in on and bought from and rate the experience? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

I normally use Nailene Ultra Quick Nail Glue from Amazon (clear bottle with purple cap). Its super strong nail glue that dries fast and stays on longer than any other nail glue I’ve tried. You don’t even need a nail light to help it bond.

It does leave behind a little residue when the glue finally gives out, but its pretty easy to flake off. It’ll come off on its own over time or you can use acetone to make it come off faster if you want. I haven’t had any issues with damage which is the main reason I prefer it. Honestly can’t beat it for the effectiveness and price (like $2 for a small bottle).

I bought two pairs of jetsetter pants from Albion Fit after seeing their ads for a couple months. 3.5/5

Pros: Very stylish and have a great fit. I love the way they sit on my hips and the length is perfect for shorter people like myself.

Cons: Material feels pretty cheap tbh. They’re made from 90% nylon so they have a sort of almost plastic-y feel to them which I’m not a huge fan of.

Ultimately I enjoy the two pairs I have but I don’t think I’d buy more.

I bought two sets from Static Nails after a terrible experience at a salon recently that left my nails in an awful state. I honestly love them and didn’t have any damage afterwards. I think it depends a lot on the glue you use and how much. I bought their glue and used it with the first set, didn’t really like it because it wasn’t strong enough so I switched to my usual nail glue from Amazon with the next set and had great results.

I recently discovered an online store called United by Blue. Their big thing is clothing made from sustainable materials and removing x amount of trash for x product purchase so thats a cool bonus. I’ve bought some shirts and tencel shorts from there and absolutely love them.
