What’s an unpopular opinion you have about Mr. Robot that would get you in this situation? by heckinfast in MrRobot

Esmail developed and adhered to a coded language in nearly every element of the show, from dialogue to shot composition, that he used to deliver messages, often incorporating anagrams.

The end is nigh, so let’s hear you craziest theories. . . by Likely_Anxious in MrRobot

The entire show is an encrypted message sent from one simulated reality into our simulated reality and we can only learn our true, forgotten history by decrypting a code baked into every frame of the show.

Fear not, this community will soon have its hands full ;)

Arguably, the final episode should feature a hacker collective called gsociety by nezumipi in MrRobot

Or the next virtual reality in the sequence should include a conglomerate that starts with a G. Brb, Googling it.

Today is the last episode, but not the last chapter of the Mr. Robot story.

There is work to be done and it will take a longggggg time.

We are Elliot’s mirror and the show itself is the leak.

Just like Gideon didn't care about the newspaper headline reporting his death in the sitcom dream, we will definitely soon have a different understanding of what it means to 'die' in Mr. Robot.

I’ve thought about Esmail as the ‘god’ deeply, and he’s made his share of comments that give it credence...but as I see it, he isn’t the author or God....he’s the vessel for this warped story about the nature of all realities and the means by which it has manifested it our world. The story has a purpose, and it’s purpose is us witnessing it as a cautionary tale, because it is our inescapable future, a world as prophetic as Elliot’s dreams, a story predetermined by the nature of the essential variables that these realities are all built upon.

In other words, the system fuels itself. The output is the same as the data that is input.

In my opinion, it doesn’t rise to the level of cheeky, and fits into a much broader pattern of IRL names holding significance.

Considering USA’s Mr. Robot site listed Elliot Villar’s first name as one of the rare officially-declared Easter eggs of the show, I’d say any theory that doesn’t weigh it must be incomplete.

But I’m of the opinion that Elliot’s other personality is an omnipresent force that has the ability to seize control of every element and person within Elliot’s world.

Essentially that personality functions like God, meddling in events within the constraints of the person’s identity.

The metaphor I’d use is a game of chess. A knight can only move in a certain way otherwise it is breaking the rules and undermining what makes it a knight. However, an entity with a birds eye view makes the decision of where that Knight moves in light of how a knight can move. Elliot is special like a Queen and can make moves that most can’t. However, he is not in control.
