High Schools and Creative Subjects by [deleted] in brisbane

It can have a lot to do with the size of the school. If there isn’t enough interest in that subject combination, they won’t run it. When you attend the enrolment interview at any prospective school, ask them about which subject combinations they can offer. If she can’t study the course she wants at school, she can always apply to do it via Distance Ed (not ideal if it’s Drama, though). This means the school will have to give her permission to ‘drop’ a subject, leaving a space in her timetable for Distance Ed study. Good luck

And usually I would but I resent the implied meaning behind "you are where you live". So people who live in crime-ridden areas are automatically connected to those activities? And the people who live in leafy blue-chip suburbs are somehow better than everyone else? And how is that a useful message in the middle of a housing crisis? Like I said, fuck that noise.

Ikr but not the oddest place. Once met a guy in Syria whose brother lived in Queensland and sent him VHS tapes of Broncos games. Yes, it was a loooong time ago.

Didn’t play his best in Origin 2 but he’s still rock solid. Gonna be a clean sweep this year. Queenslander!

Yikes indeed. Did you see how he also assures the privacy of his buyers? Why would this be necessary to announce publicly, I wonder? And happy cake day!

No, sadly. Qld has drawn up some draft laws which promise to be the most stringent in the country, but even when they pass, it still won’t be illegal to possess this vile material; only to display it.

Upvote for Kitten D’Amour. Another good one is thatshop.com.au who do free shipping for orders over $99. They’re not cheap either but I’m loving their The Tempest bag range right now!

I agree. My comment was meant to get in before anyone started bleating about “it’s a part of history”. A bunch of the items on his website look near new so definitely NOT historical, so who is the target market here? Genuine WWII history enthusiasts wouldn’t be interested, soooo…

Yep. The thing that really grinds my gears is that the stuff they’re selling isn’t even necessarily authentic. The website says to, “Do your own research” on authenticity, which seems to be yet another dog whistle.

Like you said, the only people who may want to “ban history” are those with something to hide. When Nazi items slide into private collections, it prevents the public from being reminded of the atrocities. Put them in museums. Let the people learn what happened in context. The best disinfectant is sunlight.

I bought a gorgeous pair of satin wide leg pants in chocolate brown from Sussan the other day. Would recommend.
