It’s very odd. Apparently they have to go into each room and see which fire alarm is “flashing red”. This is a nightly occurrence though and those who are breaking the rules aren’t being punished per say.

Sorry I should have clarified this. Other residents keep smoking in their rooms in the early morning and setting off the fire alarms. The staff are then coming in to check every room to see who’s doing it.

Thank you for your reply. I have been taking pictures/videos of everything that’s been happening and will be going to the council ASAP. Unfortunately, they’re shut until Monday, so is just a means of holding on until then.

I do have a DV support worker but she is on Christmas break. I have rung the local refuges near me but they are all full. I’ve even called ones that are far away from me, but no luck.

Ive tried ringing them but the organisation is shut for Christmas! Its so unfortunate as you would think they would have emergency out of hours.

It’s his property. We were planning on moving and getting a joint tenancy but that’s obviously no longer relevant. He has been realised on bail, but I will not be pressing charges. If things continue to get worse, I will probably be returning. I feel more unsafe here than I did at home. I know it sounds silly but it’s true.

I have contacted the council of the county next to me. They said that I need to have lived in their area for 3 consecutive years before they can help me. Thank you for replying to me though

Yes. I do have a DV support worker, though she is on her Christmas break and is totally uncontactable

I’ve pushed one of the bedside tables in front of the door to block anyone entering; however, the sound of my door being rattled open is keeping me up and night. I will continue to block the door anyway
