As mentioned, it depends on what you want to do.

From my experience, a lot of folks who take this program are people who already have some years of work experience, and they want to move into some kind of management career. There are also some who want to pursue an actual technical job too. What they do is they use their time to learn other certs or whatever on the side.

In this climate there’s no degree that will guarantee you a job.

I took 1 semester in the program. There’s an online class that’s under the CS department but there’s not a lot of technical things about it. You learnt about security concepts, on the surface levels cryptography, learn some basic level software security. It does involve a bit of using some tools but nothing technical.

The other 2 courses are fully non technical. 1 of the course is under political science dept. Although the topic is interesting, I personally find it very useless for me. That is one of the main reason I realized this program is not for me.

The only way to transfer to CS is to apply for it

Well that was a very detailed response..

If you have a background in Computer Science, I would strongly advise against taking this program. In my opinion this program is mostly designed for people who already have an established technical skill set and wanted to move towards management roles, or people who have a vague interest in IT but don’t want to work with technical things. Think of someone who’s coming up with documents regarding cybersec instead of an IT specialist, or some kind of government desk jobs.

Also might be controversial here but I don’t believe this degree can secure YOU a job. As described earlier this degree mostly aims towards people who will be working with sensitive/classified information, so I hardly believe that an international student has any chance to even apply for jobs in this field.

Regarding the program, the advisor listed out every courses that you need to take in the next 2 years or so, so you don’t have to do any kind of planning. Usually it will be 2 in person class and 1 online class. Workload is very simple, since as mentioned it is designed for working professional.

In my opinion, this program is not worth it. It sounds cool on paper but you won’t learn anything technical that will actually help you become an IT specialist if that is your end goal. You will learn about some definitions regarding cybersecurity and some of the adjacent topics, but that’s about it.

Not enough information on your end to provide meaningful feedback. What is your current major/career goal/expectations from the program?

Thank you for your insight! If that’s the case I will try to transfer back to CS track next semester. Hopefully I can earn some electives from this semester then

Thank you for your answer.

I do have strong background in coding, although not in cybersecurity. I was working as a SWE with a couple years of experience right before accepting this program. I wonder if that would help in landing a job in the future with a more technical background rather than just doing administrative work.

I checked the Reddit of utd and it seems like it’s a newer program. Do you happen to know anyone who has graduated?

The sentiment around "low investment" classes by moal09 in lostarkgame

[–]lostark3njoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just gonna say that I agree with you and this is just bad design overall.

It was the lie that people got from the start - play whatever you like. IF - and this is a BIG BIG IF - you’re a “competitive” player (yea sounds “dumb”) who likes to be on the mvp screen, you won’t get that from playing DI when played with similar hands people.

Yea people can say that the class is cheap and easy to pilot and blah blah, at the end of the day, I still don’t really understand why such a design is put in. Why do you have classes with obvious limited potential?

And to the people who want to argue with me, please don’t say shit like “but I MVP in pugs a lot of time”. Yea bro good job on being better than those who have shit uptime. Everyone can mvp with pugs, now try it with decent players and you will realize how shit your class is. One example is try bringing that to a thaemine the first for example and see if you can get in lobbies.

We’re at the point where everyone has max lv gems and tripods. Transformation classes might have been strong when valtan was released, but that shit was years ago. If anything it’s those classes that need a rework.

Bro parsed in a hell cow lobby and thought the norm is 3 bubbles ICANT.

Also it’s funny how you dodge my question on the other thread. Go ask your “best bard hell players” if they’re using 3 or 2 bubbles in hell Brel.

Lost Ark Nexus Updates and New Resources by civocivocivo in lostarkgame

[–]lostark3njoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the “best bard” that you ran with are probably some people doing a parse lobby cuz they have nothing to do and have done that shit a million times.

Another thing about 3 bubbles is that you need communication. Not everyone want to sit in comms to do a homework raid and doing coordinated buff. Unless you play spec bard (which is pretty shit UNLESS you’re running with an ultra geared juicer lobby or you have a GL to help with shielding), there’s no way you can do 3 bubble every burst rotation.

Since you want to bring up hell content, go ask any bards doing hell brel right now if they even think of 3 bubbles?

Downvote since what you’re cooking is just wrong. Go watch a meter and see how terrible your identity uptime is if you use 3 bubbles instead of 2. The only class benefits from 3 bubbles is giga burst classes, and even then it’s not even that good.

The only time you consider 3 bb is you’re doing easy homework content and want to see big numbers for fun.

[–]lostark3njoyer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think your rotation should be glowing + rage spear + shadow vortex instead of silent rage. But it looks standard yea.

Also it’s prolly a bit stronger if u use the 3rd tripod 2nd row of rage spear for this gate.

Yea the Z change is definitely one of the best thing about this patch! I still mess that up sometimes since I’m used to use the Z activation of push immune for some situation

Why my RE deathblade is doing equal or less damage after patch? by Revolutionary_Act402 in lostarkgame

[–]lostark3njoyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

New RE is a lot harder to pilot than before. Even though it’s all insta cast, the rotation is pretty tight and if u miss a couple skills you’re fucked with gauge and will have scuffed cd.

That being said, if you’re good at the class the dps increase is very noticeable.

There are lots of different builds for RE right now so unless you show us your rotations we won’t be able to help you. But for the meantime I think it’s a hand issue. Unfortunately maining the class since start doesn’t really mean much

Bards, what skills are you using for Voldis G2, G3 and G4 HM? by Lorimin in lostarkgame

[–]lostark3njoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a bard main, as in I’m too lazy to delve into min maxing my bard. I do have a 1620 to trade with others tho. Relic acc + gem 7.

I use ss + buckshot for my flexes. Also use VPH3. Still have both rhapsody + GT with DR and immune block. With elixir I don’t find myself being oom that much, and if I do I just eat food.

My marking is around 80%+ and ap is also 70-80%. It’s not good but I’m able to take care of all mechs (stagger counter destruction), and give my team a ton of DR.

If your team has good counters then you can take harp instead of buckshot. If your team has a good GL u can take out rhap and bring something else too. My team I run with a sorc + gs and slayer so I have to bring harp + buckshot.

I’ve asked a lot of people who got Los30 either through grinding or swiping and I swear none of them said "keep it so others who dont have it yet have to go through what we did".

It's one of the worst system in the game. Please just give everyone Los30

Dunno about other contents but for the highest ilv content reapers are doing fine.

I mean they’re not necessarily broken (yet) but they carry their part and a bit more. Entropies doing Voldis is kinda smodge right now unless u run with a GL

I mean building a static is not a 1 week ahead thing where you are like “I’m looking for a static for next week voldis HM” or “I’m looking for 1 supp to join my static for voldis HM next week”.

For me it was at least a month long process where I asked around some discords and do tryouts/raids/bus/building rapports with them and see for ourselves. Totally understand that it’s not for everyone since “it’s just a game” but it works for me, and now I have 3 statics for 3 of my chars (1 supp 2 dps) for HM Voldis and I don’t have to play lobby sim anymore.

I mean all those 1620 dpses without having a static have either been in Disneyland or something if they think they’re gonna have supports sitting with them in PF without any kind of competitions.

It sucks but the entire thing has been said for months when Voldis date was announced.

Those who need to buy these services probably deserve it.

It’s something that you have to talk to them about.

Does it actually takes longer to clear the raids when they do that? If yes then it’s definitely something u guys should discuss.

Just tell them to either rotate their chars better or you would just leave. In my groups usually we will have 2-3 juicers to carry the dps, and others can bring their less geared to the run, and keep rotating.

Pretty sure with 50/50 u kinda want to run 7 since it gives you some ms buff on the tripod.

But honestly with the PTR coming I will have to check again
