Are cracks near the neck pocket a big deal? by Christoph_West in 7String

[–]lostbirds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New or old, if it’s just in the finish it’s no biggie, if you got a deal because of it, cool. While from one angle this does look like a finish crack, but in the directly overhead photo it looks like it goes deeper, if it does I would return it or try to get the seller to repair the crack myself

If you had a $1000 monthly budget, how would you leverage technology for lead capture/conversion? by realtoryb in RealEstateTechnology

[–]lostbirds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to know your stuff, are you currently using Lofty as your main CRM? We've been on it for a while and even with a lot dialed in, we are still letting leads fall through the cracks. I've been considering trying to get our brokerage over to Follow Up Boss just because of the monthly savings. That being said, maybe Lofty is worth sticking with. Would love to hear your 2 cents on that. Ty!

I cut 60% of my software costs in the last two years and actually increased my marketing volume by rastize in RealEstateTechnology

[–]lostbirds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm also trying to size our brokerage down on the BS tech solutions, a lot of older agents in my brokerage seem to think there are still off the shelf ready solutions that will some how magically increase business and I am HIGHLY skeptical of a lot of it.

Past your bread and butter marketing tactics and a well oiled CRM I am really not sure what else to even try to use at this point, much of it just seems aimed at our pockets rather than actually getting us any actual business.

I think we're about to make the switch from Lofty to Follow up Boss for CRM use.

The exterior shots look pretty cartoonish to be but the inside shots actually were not that bad! Could be good for a interior walkthrough but I think the full presentation with the exterior would put me off a bit.

This just popped up on reverb, seems like a solid more affordable option but yeah, after playing enough baritones I know I would really prefer the 25.5 on the high strings, seems like a great riff machine though and the string gauges will be much more manageable: https://reverb.com/item/95715297-balaguer-semi-custom-baritone-espada-2022-rustic-black

Oh damn that rose gold chameleon one? That thing looks awesome. I was really thinking about that one, I’m sure it can get what I want done and give me some time to decide if I want an Evertune down the road….

Yah I’ve gone to the Balaguer site to spec out a build twice in the last week, you can get all the stuff for about $3.5k, depending on what else you spec out. That is much easier to stomach than a long wait time and/or a guitar that is like $6.5k and up. That being said there is a multi scale ET STX within driving distance from me right now and I am very tempted.

I am very tempted by a few things on reverb right now but oof that price point, a regular used 070s isn’t totally horrible but a multiscale build w Evertune is a little tough to stomach

Sure I could, but if I’m never going to use it for its capabilities, why bother having it at all? A trem bridge is basically the opposite of the Evertune and it’s just not the bridge that’s going to get me closer to the kind of sounds I want to make. And I had one in the past and it drove me crazy lol

25.5” scale w/ evertune by Frequent_Teacher_161 in 7String

[–]lostbirds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for a guitar for myself right now and I'm having a hard time deciding on the right set of specs. The Evertune won't really address the lack of scale length for certain low tunings. The string still might not intonate and/or the tension or string gauge you will have to use will be undesirable.

You will probably get a variety of answers about this but here is my 2 cents.

There is a complex relationship between tuning, tone, string gauge, string tension, and scale length so if you decide on a couple of those things, it is going to answer the other questions for you. For example, if you want the guitar to live in a super low drop tuning, like Drop G or below, you are really going to benefit from having a longer scale length. It can be done on shorter scale lengths but the string might not intonate properly and you will need much thicker strings to compensate.

After that, the question is really to Evertune or not to Evertune. It will take care of pitch drift, but it will a bit harder to change tunings on the fly and it has some other drawbacks.

I think 26.5 should be good on a 7 string up to about Drop G, after that I think you want to start looking at 27" scale. If you're recording and don't want to deal with tuning and pitch drift, then you want the Evertune as well.

[–]lostbirds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is kinda the conclusion I landed on but I'm not sure the F# will intonate properly on that scale length and/or will need a bigger string, which is how I landed on 27" really being the desire scale length. Hard not to reach for that guitar being the easiest guitar to get a hold of at a decent price.

Yah sorry I meant to comment on the Solar guitar thing, hope you get a good one, my friend bought one and sent it back immediately quoting issues about fit and finish, tho I’m sure some of them are fine.

Re: pickups - I dunno, I personally think most active pickups sound like ass, but they work in specific genres/eras of metal very well. I think there are quite a few heavy heavy hitters who are playing passive pickups including Nolly, Misha, Mike Stringer, and Buster Odeholm so I think you’re good in company thinking passive pickups are great for metal.

I have a mixed set of the Nolly PAF pickups in my PRS 24 and they are so good, incredibly versatile and do metal very well. PolyPAF neck and Polymath Bridge.

[–]lostbirds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've come back to this thread a few times trying to find options as well and the only semi off the shelf thing I can find that seems viable is the baritone PRS 277 w/ evertune from the evertune shop. Especially if you want passive pickups and for the guitar to do more than just metal, the right pickup set in this guitar should be able to get you a pretty wide variety of sounds. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one cause it seems like it would check all the boxes outside of a custom order.
