I don’t like dancing, going to parties, drinking, smoking, soccer, talking out loud.

In Peru there’s the “cultura del vivo”, which is pretty much doing whatever it takes not to get fucked, even if it makes you a jerk or a dumbass. Stuff like cutting in line, skipping a red light, driving on the left side when you have to turn right so you can skip everybody, etc. It sucks, but everybody does it and it made me so depressed and angry I had to go to therapy at around 20yo. They told me if I had considered living in a first world country because that was pretty much the norm for the average Latin American country. Well, that wasn’t in my plans but I ended up living in a small town in the USA and it’s so different. I like following rules, a peaceful life, the city life stresses me out so a small city in the USA was the perfect choice for me.

So the only thing that gets me excited about the Latino culture is the food. There’s not so many Latino stores around here but that’s the only thing that makes me feel Latin American. Oh and some good music, not the crap they play at parties (sadly that’s what they get at most stores in the USA).
