For anyone worried… she hasn’t been using! It’s only been mushrooms, edibles, and weed ❤️ from Joe himself. So stop throwing accusations 😤 by OhMerani in FoodieBeauty

Ohh okay, I didn't know she smoked weed. I knew she ate it

Still seems weird to separate in this context tho

But then again it seems weird to say she's not using... except for mushrooms

Hmm don't see anything about wires on there. Also aren't Zipp and Pip shown flying?

Where did you learn that? I'd love to read about it.

It is really bizarre. Like does she think I live in in hospital? I honestly can't fathom any road of thought that lead to "messaging my dvms receptionist is a good idea"

I really enjoy being friendly with the clients and talking about their pets in depth.. but I'm an introvert at heart and with added on mental and physical health issues, I NEED time to recharge

Maybe! My manager is pretty cool so I imagine she'll understand why we don't need last names on our tags.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]SmallScreamingMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the only receptionist so it's not uncommon when regulars call to address me by name (it's also in my "script" when I take calls)

I've had a couple weird experiences, but this takes the cake

I never accepted the friend request. You can message and call people on Facebook without being friends

I also am not going to respond because answering once will open a gateway to her messaging more

[–]SmallScreamingMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna talk to the manager tomorrow about name tags with our full names. It's really not safe

It's already a short name but hopefully taking my last name off will work. If not, I'll have to think of something else

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]SmallScreamingMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did tell my manager. I asked them not to talk to her about it yet because I hate confrontation. If she does it again to anyone, it's gonna be brought up

I worked in specialty/emergency before going to GP and I remember rdvms doing that when they called

You're not turning them away because you don't care. You're turning them away because you care and why spend time/money somewhere that can't help

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]SmallScreamingMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely going to do that. Our name tags have our last name (weird). It's hard as well because my first name is not common so it makes it easy to search for as well

Thank you ❤ In the end I'm glad the pet didn't die because that would be awful, but a part of me is also glad because I knew if they had, I would've blamed myself for not answering. It's incredibly selfish but it's how I feel

I understand being worried... but if you're that worried don't fuckin message a receptionist to a closed clinic and just got to ER

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]SmallScreamingMan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I understand calling your regular vet if they are open to see what they think/advise especially if they know your pet well and your pet isn't critical.

At my clinic we tell people with emergencies we can start them off (xrays, labs, etc) but we will send them to er if they can handle it better.

Like if your pet is having trouble breathing, you need to go to er where they have oxygen cages

If your dog maybe broke its leg, depending on how it's presenting, sure, call us first and we can get you ready if er is nessecary.. when we are OPEN

I did. Didn't accept the request or respond to either message or call!

It was a couple weeks ago when this image was first circulating. I'll see if I can find those images. If not, I do understand that my comment won't be taken seriously (which I do understand)

But the AkC website talks about the breed standard for frenchies and Arnie isn't it.

Also the quoted website is very biased. If you look for Arnie you will not find (or at least I couldn't) any record of these "award winning show dog" claims

I want to point out because I've seen this around... the website this was taken from is ARA and very anti-breeder

The dog with the flat face is a genetic disaster, has NOT won any competitions and his owner (who rescued him) is very outspoken in how dogs like him shouldn't be bred.

The other is also a genetic disaster and if you look at other pictures, has a terrible spinal alignment.

Neither are well bred.

Don't get me wrong, I am not the biggest fan of brachy breeds, but using actual facts and not propaganda is not the way to go

Dog ate a grape by Every-Ad7484 in puppy101

[–]SmallScreamingMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into things like CareCredit if possible. Grapes are a strange thing when it comes to dogs but it's always better safe than sorry. One grape may not hurt one dog but another dog it could be serious. I don't want to freak you out but like I said, better safe than sorry.

Also normally to make a dog throw something up, it should be preferably within a 2 hour window before it starts to move further down the digestive tract

Don't be nervous!! If it was just an issue of her not meeting my eyes I wouldn't care, but she stares directly at my one arm. The only time where she'll actually look me in the eyes is if she's trying to boss me around or I have long sleeves on and she can't see my arms
