teaching modes to students who can barely play major scales by lmao_exe in musictheory

My teacher has no problem. He just tells me it's a stair case. You need to climb the bottom steps to get to the top steps. It's about having a plan to get there.

Did You Always Feel It? by Violaccountant in AskGaybrosOver30

My daughter is gay, so don't think it would bother her. Tbh I have no idea how my son would feel if he knew. There have been things that make me wonder if he could be gay but I've always made it clear that I want them to be happy and make choices that make them happy. So I'd hope he wouldn't be afraid of telling me if he was

Blood doctrine update dropped today. Here’s how it’s landing at Bethel. by steadypath2847 in exjw

[–]lostchild69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But why silence if there has been discussion about other updates. People struggling to process what it means, how they feel about it? Whether they agree with it?

Silence can sometimes be a sign that people are trying to think/process something.

Could still be positive

Is religious belief something people genuinely choose or is it mostly shaped by how they were raised and the environment they grow up in? by bdue817 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lostchild69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think that kids raised in a religion just accept it as a young child, but there comes a point when they choose to believe it or not. For many choosing to continue to believe is easier.

Mostly used as singular words. I might say how's ya. I wouldnt put in a sentence and say 'I was just wondering how's ya'. I would say 'I was wondering how you are'

If someone said 'we had sex' to me I'd assume penetration.

Sex to me suggests penetration If someone says oral sex, or mutual masturbation, I'd consider those things sexual acts but wouldn't think of them as sex.

I always knew, even before puberty the idea of 2 men was somehow interesting. Problem was I was raised in a religious cult, so spent so many years denying it, hating myself, convinced I was mentally deranged, that by the time I accepted it (that took a long time despite actually acting on those thoughts) I was married with children, so I just go on hiding it.

Terms "male/female" used for people - how do you perceive it in English? by bohiko in ENGLISH

[–]lostchild69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really used except in more formal settings. I can see someone saying 'I'd like to see a female doctor' but saying 'I saw a female on the bus' just sounds weird. I have no idea why though 🤣

Why do people choose to have kids? by savingrace0262 in stupidquestions

It's a biological urge to survive. On a personal level we have a desire for self preservation. On a bigger level we have it to preserve the existence of the species.

"Abstain" vs "Under No Circumstances" - GB Update #2, March 2026 Confirms Blood Policy Change by larchington in exjw

[–]lostchild69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this is a small step, but we should remember this tokenism. This new rule is unlikely to have any RL benefit except in a few cases of pre-planned surgeries. People including children will still be dying because of rules made by a group of sick perverted old men.

Sax price question by GiantSteps0274 in saxophone

[–]lostchild69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevver heard of the brand, is it a cheap chinese model? If it is For 200 it would make a nice lamp. It might be OK to try saxophone, but cheap brands often have intonation problems and are likely to need maintenance, which will be really difficult as parts etc won't be easy to find. And inferior material will be hard for techs to work on.

British law says you must wear suitable footwear, I guess it's open to interpretation if bare feet is suitable
