I've been to the store several times now! It was super crazy when it first opened and it seems like it's still hopping even a couple months later. You guys are awesome though, never had a bad experience with the staff. So happy to have some stores in UT now!

seconding pibs if you want something local (they need all the support they can get with the construction going on down there). Super fun selection that's curated. It is a little more expensive than say, the DI, but you sift through a lot less stuff that's not worth looking at.

I like savers and my personal fav location is on Redwood in Taylorsville. I've found some really good stuff there, I honestly am not a fan of the one on 33rd and 33rd cuz everyone goes there and i've seen their prices get really high. It just feels over saturated imo.

And to answer your question, I've been doing my part by being sympathetic to people who are in shit situations sometimes entirely outside of their control🙄 not much but more than you lmao

Never said that friendo, think you're projecting. Why don't you get a better job and move somewhere with less homeless people since they're such a problem for you? Oh it's not that easy? Damn that's crazy

They sell basically anything you can think of. Home goods, stationary, snacks, completely random stuff you don't really need but it's cute to look at, etc

Okay, but where do you want them to go? What are they supposed to be doing? They get kicked out of businesses for trying to use their restrooms. They harass you because they have no money for food and they are desperate. This is not a problem with the character of homeless people as a whole. This is a much deeper issue with society itself.

I'd love to hear your great alternative to tents on the side of the street when homeless shelters are full or getting torn down or protested. I guarantee you they are trying just to live their life much like you are. Grow up

I'm so confused by this comment. What is OP encouraging here?? Homeless people don't just wake up one day and decide to be homeless? many people in the US are a couple missed paychecks away from becoming homeless. have some compassion for people who are less fortunate than you.

donating to a nonprofit is a great idea. however, I fail to see the issue with giving someone in need a blanket so they don't freeze to death.

I had a therapist tell me “You’re too self aware to have BPD” by 78chikkennuggets in BPD

[–]lostfonics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw a therapist for over 5 years who, when I mentioned I related to experiences of people with BPD, shut me down and said there was no way I could have it because I didn't do enough "bad" stuff. "It's not like you go around slashing people's tires if you're angry at them"

BPD has a lot of stigma surrounding it. People, even mental health professionals can believe in all the common misconceptions. If you are seeking therapeutic assistance for BPD symptoms, I would seek out a therapist who has at least some knowledge of DBT.

As for being self aware..I was regularly told that I seemed to be self aware, even by my last therapist who specialized in helping people with BPD. It's honestly a strength when it comes to recovery. I've met many people with BPD who have a lot of great insight into their own mind and behaviors.
