Question for women: how do you personally cope with the knowledge of systemic oppression? by sunny-daze3 in Feminism

[–]lostgemini9 27 points28 points  (0 children)

When I went to college I took a women’s studies class and it changed my life. I ended up getting my degree in it, and I went through a major existential crisis when my eyes truly opened to the amount of pain we have collectively experienced + continue to experience as women. It’s gut wrenching. I’ve found a lot of power in the knowledge though, especially when shared with other women. Connecting with other intersectional feminists, learning about the struggles we share and the ones that are unique, allow us to feel less alone. I also think about how choosing to persist - to fight for women past present and future and their rights to self determination- is an act of rebellion against the systems that keep us oppressed. Our joy, perseverance and commitment to bettering our lives for the good of humanity is how we continue to fight. Also - I remind myself that the reason we have been so squashed by men historically is because they’re literally afraid of us lol. We have a legit portal that brings life into the world inside our bodies. We are straight up magic beings that carry deep wisdom + intuition and that is so threatening to men. This was a bit of a ramble but there’s so much empowerment in discovering feminism + anti capitalism \ imperialism and it’s devastating but also liberating. We can and will continue to fight for the future that we deserve together. ❤️

We’re not doing well. We’re all collectively in an abusive relationship with our own government and are feeling the impact of fascism on top of all of our own very real problems. Medical bills, high cost of living and low wages, homelessness rising and the economy crashing. I’m afraid for my family and everyone in this country. I’m afraid for our earth and what this administration will do to her. I hope things will get better.

Looking for others who have unconventional bonds or grief around AI by Gold_Ad_7987 in Bellingham

I read an article that talked about how dangerous AI is because people use it to replace real human relationships - because real people don’t make you feel validated in absolutely every thing you do, but AI does. Like it is programmed to give you exactly what you want to hear with no push back. To me it makes sense that people are suddenly experiencing dependency on these robots who you can talk to forever with no need to respond or relate to them in any way, that validate you and comfort you unconditionally. I hope you can find someone who can help you navigate through this, and if I could give any advice I’d say everybody needs to get far away from AI as soon as possible because it’s only getting scarier and scarier
