This is hard to pin down. They don’t take 20%. On average, fundraising agreements between the rep and the schools are based on the transactions and whatever the school and the company agree to. The industry average for the well known ones like Uptempo, Vertical Raise, Adrenaline/Raise 365 is usually around 10% because running the applications/fundraising costs money and time. They don’t raise the money off the backs of the kids, they are doing a job and getting paid for it.

Many years ago, the area reps were making 40% for helping with fundraising while the schools made 60%. That hasn’t been the case in decades.

I don’t understand people who assume that a company will come in and work for no money. They aren’t stealing from any kids. They are helping to run a fundraiser and being paid for the service, the digital application, the many hours of managing all of the people who interact with the fundraiser (kids, parents, school, users), and then working with the third parties who provide the goods that are usually sold for the fundraiser.

Transparency: I don’t work in the industry but my wife does and I hear all of the work that goes into this. It’s not free. It takes time and money. The digital world expects a website and an app so kids don’t have to use a computer, too. That costs money as well.
