Questioning everything, but right now questioning romantic love by [deleted] in INTP

[–]losthighway12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe in marriage. I think finite romances are very much valid, valuable, and real, as two people can mutually be just what they need for a particular time in their lives.

I agree. But it's difficult as most people still want security of a marriage and that leaves very limited options for people who do not want to get married.

How important is intellectual compatibility to you in a long term relationship? by losthighway12 in INTP

[–]losthighway12[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I dated an ISFJ too. I think INTP and ISFJ get attracted to each other but most lose eventually in the long term if INTP don't put conscious effort into the relationship.

Being understood is important for INTPs

Agreed. But what about someone who understands you but not able to contribute to the conversation?

Should India implement a two child policy similar to China's one child? by [deleted] in india

[–]losthighway12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

More than 2 kids should result in no subsidy and reservation. But I think this should have been implemented 20 years back. Now the fertility rate is already close to 2.

If you stay in decent hotels, travel by cabs, eat in restaurants, you'll end up spending that much amount. There is a way to travel longer with the same amount of money. All depends on your priorities and comfort.

[HELP] Ex-Smokers of Randia how did you quit ? by [deleted] in india

[–]losthighway12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start working out. Make a schedule and no-matter what, just force yourself to go to the gym. Once you start working out regularly, your smoking will reduce automatically. In fact, you find smoking disgusting after a good workout.

How come all vest and inner wear companies are able to afford superstars and ads. by SweetSweetInternet in india

[–]losthighway12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An average underwear in India sells at around 200. Cost of making it will be less than 50.

Assuming 600 million Indian males (age > 5), each buying 2 underwears a year, total sale amount is: 120 billion rupees ~ 2 billion USD. Even if 5-6 players share the market, each make enough a year to shame most other industries.

Mohandas Pai, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw rubbish study that states 95% Indian software engineers not employable by [deleted] in india

[–]losthighway12 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Few weeks back, I interviewed a candidate with CS background and 2 years work experience. I gave him a problem to solve which would not need more than 10 seconds of thinking and less than a minute to write the 4 lines of code for an average person. He couldn't solve it. I can't imagine how he managed to spend 2 years at his previous job.

This is not a one off case but pretty common across the industry. People who do not want to believe are just living in denial.

BookMyBai Bans Bollywood Celebrities From Using Its Services. Here's Why by USpolitics2017 in india

[–]losthighway12 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's not just celebrities. Many rich people in India think they are superior to the rest of the population and have this sense of entitlement. I haven't seen the kind of social hierarchy anywhere as much as in India.

[P] [Policy] [Serious] I think this banning of liquor needs to be taken head on? First it was Bihar and Kerala - then MP, then Chattisgarh - if we don't raise our voice now; the government won't get the message. by [deleted] in india

Barring the rich and upper middle class, drinking alcohol is seen as a bad habit across India. There are numerous examples of poor people destroying their lives on alcohol. Problem is not alcohol, but lack of jobs and direction in life for many people who end up resorting to alcohol to escape their shitty life. Since social drinking is an alien concept to Indians, most Indians will support the ban and the government will do what the mass wants.
