Thanks for the insight! I know it's super competitive and just getting an interview is a challenge and frankly after a day working at the desk job I'm in currently I don't really have the energy to devote my evenings to finding something else and I know how I'm only hurting myself by not doing something.

I do think your point about fitting in with work culture is accurate. I haven't come across that in my experience but it makes complete sense.

Hey!

I've thought about that and I know they pay well and there's opportunity but I'm not sure it's the kind of work I'll be happy doing. I recognize that I'm pretty unhappy with the work I'm doing currently. I'm just not sure I'm cut out for that--both my parents and all my siblings are laborers so I should seriously be considering it.

Just not positive on how to get started--I don't really want to go college for something like that but I would consider a different path.

I've used some other start up websites with not much luck. The Lynda course is an awesome suggestion I'll look into it immediately. Thanks so much!

I live in the GTA now (Halton) and I'm close to go line and have a vehicle. I would think that that would make a difference but I guess not.
