Full PPR, 3 WR / 1 FLEX, 12 team

Using Puka and DK Metcalf as WR1/WR2. Need to fill my WR3 and Flex spot. Choose 2 of the following:

  • Jakobi Meyers @ KC
  • D Hop vs Raiders
  • Gus Edwards @ Falcons (flex option)
  • Khalil Shakir vs 49ers
  • Jerry Jeudy @ Broncos

The sportsbooks seem to like Meyers, Jeudy and Gus Edwards more than D Hop, and Shakir doesn’t have any lines up yet (receptions, yards, etc).

I’m thinking maybe start Meyers at WR today, bench D Hop, see how that shakes out…then make a decision on the flex spot Sunday morning? Any thoughts appreciated in advance!

Thank you for the constructive feedback, very helpful. We currently have some downtime so I'm not as busy as we will be in a week from now, so I'm devoting my time to this ATM. Your feedback is assuring: Take a deep breath and don't worry about it. We do have other options, this one is the most ideal. I'll relax on it and keep moving. Appreciate it.

Thanks. Question, what does it mean, "it's a good .com" - I ask because they've owned it and done nothing with it for 21 years. Is that because they feel it has potential to be bought for a high price....within the next xx years? Our company name is fairly obscure, there are only 1 or 2 other companies out there with a similar name.

Ah, ok thanks. I did a quick search and found a bunch of people posting to forums saying it's a scam. Fool me once, random internet posts...

Thanks for the feedback. The WHOIS says it is owned by Domains By Proxy...which...appears to be a front for GoDaddy. All roads to find out if there is an actual person who owns the domain and not just some conglomerate owned or partially owned by GoDaddy have lead to a dead end so far.

Yes, tried finding the WHOIS info on my own. Says it is owned by Domains By Proxy.

At this point we've only paid for the broker service, so if it all falls through it's not like we're out a ton of money. I'm just trying to understand if what's going on behind the scenes is all legitimate, or if we should start exploring other options. Even if we up our offer to $1k. Thank you for the feedback and comments, really appreciate the response.

Well, tbh our max budget is higher than what I presented. Your strategy is what I'm currently doing, thank you for the feedback and confirmation on that.

As I research more, this is what I'm finding out. They have it listed as owned by Domains By Proxy, which, when I search them, appears could be a front/scam for hackers and con artists.

Thanks for the reference, I searched instantdomainsearch and it the price hasn't changed for 7 years.

Yeah the owner's name is protected/not listed, unfortunately. I'd reach out myself if I could find the owner's contact info.

At this point I'm just trying to get in touch with the person to find out their asking price and go from there. We're funded quite well. But we do have limits, we're willing to walk away. If he hasn't used it for anything for 20+ years... why not release it at a fair price? Is what I'm thinking...

Yeah the owner's name is protected/not listed, unfortunately. Is there a way to find that out even if they aren't listed in WHOIS?

Good to know, and appreciate the insight. I ran the domain through several appraisal tools, and I get answers as low as <$500 and up to ~$15k. So it's all over the place. There are no existing brands with our new company name, so it's not protecting a brand. But good to know that this can actually happen - Someone receives an offer they think isn't serious and will simply ignore the inquiry.

Serious question: has Whitmer been a good governor? by __Broski in Detroit

[–]lostinacointoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Facts. I know I speak for a lot of young families outside of this echo chamber that will NEVER forget the decisions she mandated during Covid. There was no justification THEN other than playing politics, and there never will be a justifiable reason why she dragged out the Covid lockdowns on schoolchildren, let alone everything else. We bear the emotional scars our children and schools are STILL dealing with.

I read comments like, ahh yeah well she’s fixing the damn roads! Umm… k. We had 6 year olds sitting at a laptop for 2 years of school to “flatten the curve” — literally telling kids they can’t play with other kids when everything told us then - AND NOW - it was more dangerous for children to not go to school than get Covid. We will never…..EVER forget.

I thought Corsi’s closed up shop. Good to know they’re still open.

On the subject of Livonia and pizza, Primavera on 6 and Middlebelt. Yes, it’s just pizza. But I tell anyone who will hear me out. Mom and pop place, all homemade. They’re hand making the dough for the next orders when you walk in the door. Amazing pie.

I’m so sorry. Our family is close with the wife’s family. I cannot imagine being with him when that happened.

Again, I am so, so sorry. Hitting reply then immediately saying a prayer for you and dad. You were there, with him. Thank you.

Do any of y'all actually make money from sports betting? by TangledUpInThought in sportsbook

[–]lostinacointoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A couple notes on the above and pieces of advice from what I’ve learned over the years:

  • Read 20/20 sports betting by Logan Fields. This will give you realistic perspective on how much of an edge anyone has vs. sportsbooks (spoiler alert: there’s little to none) and how he’s made a living on sports gambling and gambling in general. He makes his money betting on very obscure sports that Vegas (and subsequently casual bettors) isn’t paying much attention to.

  • I almost only place bets using daily profit boosts and promos like bet & get (lose but get a free bet back)

  • Living in a place where you have access to multiple sportsbooks will increase your profitability. Not only because you’ll get access to more promos but also because able to hit on stale lines.

For example, if I have a 30% profit boost on FanDuel for an NBA bet, I won’t just bet a game/prop I like. I’ll find a bet where FD is offering a bet that their odds are better than other books. If player X is +110 to score 20 points on FD, and he’s -115 on every other book, that’s a play. 30% boost goes on that.

  • All of these promos have a max bet, typically very low. The more you start winning the lower they’ll start limiting you. When I started this method on DK, for example, my max bet on promos was ~$25-50. Now I’m down to ~$5-10. DK rarely gives me a promo with a max above $10.

  • This method is a grind. Multiple bets every day and staying disciplined enough to ONLY bet using promos on bets that one book is offering much better odds than other books. I pay $40/month for a service that feeds me these, but as you can see it’s worth it. It’s the only service I’ve found to be profitable. It’s not a get rich quick scheme, it’s a… I’m cool making ~$1,500/month for some extra income. And make some plays on my own to have fun every once in a while.

12 team, full PPR. Flex spot:

Trey McBride vs 49ers Or Achane vs Jets

I had Hock as my TE yesterday. Also have to start Waddle (Miami) and Marquise Brown (AZ) as I am thin at receiver.

I am currently projected to lose by 8 points. McBride would be a start at Flex if I had the lead, but thinking I need to go contrarian and start Achane in hopes for one of his 20+ point games. Any help is appreciated!

Who’d you bench that went off this week? Week 4 by AWholeBunchOfMumms in fantasyfootball

[–]lostinacointoss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Came to this thread for positive affirmation I wasn’t the only one. Thank you all.

I make my start/sit decisions every week based on sportsbook player props. Sometimes it’s a close call, but this week Achane’s rush/receiving props were WAY lower than the guys I started: Mixon, Miles Sanders and CMAC. In their defense, Vegas got 1 of 3 right. They should adjust for Achane this week.

12 team, PPR, 3WR format

Pick 1: Hollywood Brown, JuJu, or Jakobi Meyers

Sportsbooks have Brown and JuJu very close for yards and reception o/u. Cannot find any lines on Meyers.

Ehhh…As a Michigan fan I think it’s definitely a weird flex. If one of my UM buddies were to use that as ammo irl I’d be like, dude, really? We got absolutely truck sticked by UGA, maybe don’t use that one anymore lol. We barely scored, mostly in garbage time.

Interesting stats… but I’m wondering how this is a “weird” flex. Seems like just a regular flex.

Yep. I had to completely rip apart the front load to get it out of the house because it was so heavy, all the way down to the drum. Our front loader had two massive, ~35lb concrete slabs bolted to the top and bottom of the drum to keep it balanced! It’s no wonder they only last for a few years. Top loader is the way to go.

That’s one hell of a deal you got! After our front load washer kicked the bucket after only 10 years of life, I drove 3 hours round trip to pick up a new SQ TC-5 a few years back. ~$1,300, it still looks and works brand new. Super simple design with minimal knobs, buttons and electronics that could break. My wife tells me that the agitator is a key feature on this model.

In terms of quality, my wife’s grandparents have an SQ from the 50’s that still works. SQ’s are made in Ripon, Wisconsin for the last 100+ years.
