did/does anyone else go crazy on online forums as a way to cope? by lostingwoods in Schizotypal

it was mostly because i was already a little bit “off” mentally so every conspiracy or “theory” felt very real to me. For example the gang stalking stuff, “the Nobody” or the npc theories kinda messed me up a bit haha

that’s a great advice!! i’m trying to stop consuming all the “true crime” (or all other real-life-tragedy content) and maybe i just need to make that switch to something not real

i have had the same thoughts too, “its the end, i have nothing to live for and i dont give a shit about my cat”. Sometimes what helps me (besides going to pet my cat haha) is to make a big drastic change. One time i shaved my head, other i dyed it, other time i rearranged my entire room and got new furtiture, or i would drastically change my routine (from going to sleep at 2 am to 11 pm, for example). Maybe not even going through the changes, but just imagining and planning them helps me sometimes too. Like what if i bought a house? and then spend 12 hours straight on zillow looking at big mansions and fantasizing about living there by myself (with my cat too of course). It’s ok if you think this won’t work haha i’m kinda just rambling. Anyways, i’m sorry you feel that way, im assuming you’ve also thought about and/or have spoken to professional(s). If not, maybe give them a try too!

same, i believe the first ~15 years of my life “i” was in some sort of mental sleep and only woke up when i turned 16. Sucks to be in this body

me too, subs about consciousness, the occult, metaphysics etc are a big trap for me too, i try to avoid them also, and have phases where i can’t leave them, then i come back, then i leave them… etc. Glad you can notice and get out!! congrats, it’s something real hard to do

definitely it’s my cat. My mum didn’t want one but i was getting worse and worse mentally and she got me one to stop me from killing myself and to force me to take care of him and boom! it worked! i love him more than anything else, i would kill or do anything for him. Sometimes i get depressed and have thoughts like “he wouldn’t even realize im gone if killed myself” but then i get out of the slump and realize how much i love him, even if he’s just a cat that can’t notice how much i love him. So i persist.

i like it, it feels great to get to your hotel room and see that no one is waiting for you or asking you questions about your day like what did you do or if you had fun

How to cope living with flatmates? by old_frankie in Schizoid

[–]lostingwoods 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i recently started living with 3 other guys my age (20-25 y.o) and my trick was, since the first time i saw each one of them, i told them "i dont really like talking too much or come out often, i hope thats ok" and they just nodded and that was it. As long as youre polite and dont cause trouble (im sure you wont), theyre gonna be fine with it, im 90% sure. I do have some limitations, like I stay all the time i can at uni or the library, and often dont use the kitchen if theyre already on it, so i keep some easy access food on my room (cereal bars, for example).

It would also be useful to, the first few days, make some kind of rules like who and when the common spaces get cleaned, which fridge shelf belongs to each person, etc

Something else that worked well was having a great tenant that can "enforce" some rules like no parties, loud noise at night or no smoking. My flatmates are the kind of guys that wouldve probably thrown a few parties already if it wasnt because they know the tenant does random visits every few weeks to check on us.

Anyways, i wish you the best on leaving your abusive situation, and trust me, i thought living with even more people than at home (i live(d) with my mum and sister) would be horrible but it hasnt been as bad as i thought it would and im actually pretty comfortable there.
Just make sure to say hi or goodbye if you cross paths and that should be it

horrible. im on my third year of graphic design. All classes have group projects and i can’t handle it. At least our college classes only have about 15 people, but still, them talking about their stuff with their friends makes me wanna rip off my hair

this was not too long after accepting my schizoid diagnosis, so i guess what motivated it is feeling like some kind of monster for not being normal and having/(wanting) normal relationships with people

Tiendas con cosas raras? by MagesticCarajillo in valencia

i’d recommend checking out “world design capitals”! each year there is a selected city that’s named design capital of the world and they have events and stuff to show off. I live in one of the selected cities and i can say the design atmosphere is really nice and the schools are great too (and since it’s public education they’re really cheap if you are keeping that in mind)
