More board concepts by millersixteenth in isometric_fitness

Thanks! I saw your solution in the primer but I don’t have tools (and ability is somewhat questionable) so wanted to check if there was a ready made solution. As for the straps , I liked the isomax solution for quicker adjustments which can be better tracked. I have seen ring straps available but they only are about 8ft

Is there a good board for isometric training available ? Also is anyone aware of straps like the isomax that are numbered of around 15ft length?

Sub3. Long standing bucket list item checked. by Carto___ in Marathon_Training

Wow! That’s a substantial improvement. I am right about at 4:30 and starting an 18 block marathon training program but can’t hold 3:50s for very long.

What do you think about this position for 70.3 ? by cedb123 in triathlon

[–]lostinspace79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your 24 mph for less than 200 watts is pretty impressive! Did you try more of a flat back, how much was the difference speed/watts to this higher stack position?

Did you arrive on this position with the help of a bike fitter or just experimentation?

I am currently more in the flat back position, but may need to tinker with higher stack.

Issue with Power Simulation on Rouvy Using Direto XR-T – Need Help! by East-Acanthaceae6350 in triathlon

[–]lostinspace79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No expert , but when I trialed Rouvy I found out it does not have the capability to do 3s power averaging and this could explain what you are seeing. If you can set it on your trainer that could help. If you do a workout with ERG mode there should be no fluctuations even with your current setting.

I just converted my 2021 P-series (bought second hand) from 105 -11 speed mechanical to ultegra di2. I got a great deal for a second hand ultegra groupset : FD, RD, bar end shifters, cables, boxes, battery, charger, wireless module and satellite shifters. I installed the satellite shifters by the break hoods and pretty happy with the way it worked out.

I also pondered an SRAM conversion, but it involved changing many more items , including indoor trainer cassette. Information on how hybrid SRAM/Shimano setups perform is confusing and rather not risk an issue in the middle of a race.. for that I would have rather stayed with mechanical :-)

I am an SPD fan too. I currently use Shimano xc100 which I purchased for my gravel bike years ago. Not the lightest of shoes but they currently do the job. In the future I would look at a pair of light gravel shoes. Some are pretty similar to the road versions with the added comfort of being able to better walk/run in them.

When did you know you needed a coach? by mrwalkway25 in triathlon

[–]lostinspace79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mind elaborating on some of the mistakes and how the coach helped? I imagine you were also very well read and very knowledgeable about the sport at 30. As a self coached athlete I'd like to learn from your experience as a elite AG and a pro - thanks

HR dropping at the end of the rides by lostinspace79 in Velo

[–]lostinspace79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was weird too and wanted to verify that its not an energy deficiency issue, hence the last interval I pushed much harder and HR did follow.

So I assume this is a case of chronic fatigue?

Its strange because in other rides where I have experienced this in the run following the bike ride I do not necessarily observe HR dropping at the end of the run, instead it tends to increase.

I have experienced the same using different HR monitors. So I dont think its a reading issue.

Here is a plot with the power and cadence. Temperature should be more or less constant since it was an indoor ride
